So Smileybug which did you choose? Yard work or cleaning? ;) I just got home from my son's baseball game. Had to be on the field at 8:30 this morning. I wore long johns and winter socks and was still cold. It was 42 degrees and then started raining on us. I may have a chill for the rest of the day. It's still only 46.

I will be thinking of Mean Queen. She is probably having a great time. One thing for sure, she is a lot warmer than I am right now. Then again, most of you are probably warmer than me. :lmao:

I chose house work. It seemed like the lesser of two evils. But it was a good day. :thumbsup2

OH MY WORD, SadieDog, isn't this weather NUTS!!??? Aaaaaaaarrrgh! This is one reason I am so done with New England.... We should have had THIS in April, and the warmer weather NOW. Last May was cold and rainy, too, I remember. There is just not enough "summer" around here!!!!

I hope you can warm up. I know what that sort of chill feels like! I'm surprised your son's game wasn't called! How old is he - is it upper-level??

Well I am indoors to stay today, save for picking up DS8 from the b-day party he's at. We have friends coming over tomorrow (supposedly for a cook-out...) and I need to spruce up the house a bit.

That coffee pot will be going all day today....

I just can't believe you gals are havng such cold weather still. It was 80 here today.  Rain is coming in though. Two of my boys spent the day at the beach, (insert sunburned babnana here)

Moms - I like your peeker and think it makes you look like a lurker. :thumbsup2
I'm to embarrassed to tell you what I thought you said.:lmao: I would probably get points anyway. :rotfl2:

Momsof2Boys: Of course I love the name Sadie as well. I named my dog after the Beatles song. I used to sing it to her. Sadly my beloved Sadie died of cancer last June. It doesn't feel like it's been that long ago. She was a shepherd/greyhound mix. The most quiet, easiest dog ever. I miss her so.
I had a sheltie named Sissy that also died of cancer. She was a family member for sure. We called her the Nanny as she would always bark if the babies in the house touched something they shouldn't.
Your son has great ideas and WAY MORE ambition than my daughter. He sounds like a very smart enthusiastic kid. We love wildlife. My daughters 1st idea was in the line of Game Warden/Park Ranger. However, she was told that jobs are very difficult to come by. She just left to go take the SAT's. She doesn't test well with standardized tests and she always learned differently from most kids. All you can do is try your best. It doesn't help that she broke up with her boyfriend last week and was up crying last night.

Oh no... breakups cannot make test taking easy at all. I always tell the kids to do their best and be proud of that. My youngest works harder for every grade. We don't speak of it but you know he knows it. Life is unfair like that for him.

Holy moley, where have y'all been?! Yikes!!

Well, I'm here - at the moment - anyone else?? We had our cook-out today. It was yum-o! Steak, ribs, chicken and burgers....

The weather was still raw and damp, but at least it didn't rain at all.

Back from WDW! It was a nice, quick trip. We got to the Boardwalk around 10:30 and tried to check in, but of course no room was open. So we walked to DHS. We got there just in time to walk in for the new Playhouse Disney show. My 2 year old loved it! It was very sweet to watch her dance and cheer for all her favorites. Then we grabbed a fast pass for the Little Mermaid. We tried to check out the new Toy Story Mania but it was in cast member preview. Passholder preview is next weeked. Guess what I want to do Mother's day weekend now? We grabbed lunch at the commissary then headed back for Ariel. The little one was getting tired but our room wasn't ready. So we walked around the shops and checked out the characters in the street. We walked back to the Boardwalk and checked again on our room. Still not ready and it's now 3:30. We sat in the lobby already tuckered out from walking back and forth to the Studios. We couldn't get our bags to get our bathing suits, so we just sat and talked to a nice CM. He mentioned that MK would be getting a new roller coaster in the near future and Space Mountain would be upgraded somehow. We talked about DVC and the Contemporary. He said he only knows what he's read online, even though he's not supposed to read the rumors.

Finally, our room was ready and we got inside. It was a nice 1-bedroom villa overlooking the Boardwalk. It was just on the 2nd floor over the grocery store. We had a great view of Spaceship Earth at Epcot. DH and DD8 went to the pool while I got the little one down for a very quick nap. We had dinner reservations at the Yachtsman. Boy was that good! We had the Lobster Bisque, Seafood salad, and Chateau Briande for 2. The desserts were good, but a bit fancy. Chocolate and passion fruit don't go together. We walked back and it started to sprinkle. We noticed Celebration High School was having prom at the Atlantic Dance Hall. We played a few games and checked out stores before the rain came down hard. We went inside the Boardwalk and found some magicians walking around. My DD8 got to help both out with some magic tricks. She thought this was the coolest thing ever. We got back to the room and relaxed a bit. At 9, we watched the fireworks from Illuminations from our balcony. We finally got the girls to go to sleep at 10. My DD2 fell asleep saying "more firefirks, more firefirks."

The next morning we got up and headed to the pool. It was 9:30 and the slide didn't open until 10 so we relaxed for a bit. After a quick trip down the Keister Coaster (aka scary clown slide), we headed back to the room to check out. We packed up and headed to Epcot. DH headed over to get Test Track fast passes while I meandered with the girls to Japan. Instead, I stopped and shopped. So we decided to see if Le Cellier had any lunch openings (yeah, right.) Well, yeah, they did! This is our favorite restaurant and they now serve our favorite dish, the Mushroom Filet, for lunch. What a birthday treat for DH. After eating probably the largest lunch I've had in a while, we headed back for our fast passes. DH and DD8 went on TT while I went in the butterfly tent with DD2. She was so thrilled. We then stopped by a bee exhibit and learned a lot about bees. I headed into Mouse Gears for some shopping when DH and DD8 caught up with us. She wanted to do the playground, so I missed out on Test Track. We then did a bit of pin trading before heading home. This was a very quick and relaxing trip for us. So we missed a lot of our favorites, but got to enjoy other things, like the butterfly garden.

We are going back next Saturday to just do the passholder preview of Toy Story Mania. Then we have a long weekend trip planned for Memorial Day at the Wilderness Lodge. Though judging from how hot it was this trip, that may be our last for a bit.

Good morning ya'll

Wow!! Mean Queen sounds like ya'll have a really great time. Why is it the weekends have been going by so fast lately?:confused3 I have a doctors appt. this morning so I probably won't be back on until a little later.

HAVE A GREAT MORNING EVERYONE!!

Good morning! MeanQueen your Disney weekend sounds fabulous!! I always wanted to stay at the Boardwalk. I would so much rather have been at Disney than in the woods this weekend.

We had a Cub Scout Camporee weekend and then yesterday a Boy Scout meeting and a birthday party to go to at a roller rink. I skated! :rotfl: it was a blast. Only fell once. Pretty much most of the parents ended up skating too.

I hadn't looked at the computer since Friday and came back to see I now have a tag! I am so happy to finally have one!

Have a beautiful morning, everyone!

LegoMom..it sounds yummy! I like to cookout even if the weather isn't perfect. The food still tastes better and less cleanup than cooking in the kitchen. I like your grilling smiley!

How cool, you got a scrolling tag. Do you remember where you posted to get that one?

Happy Monday! Or as happy as Monday can get. ;)

Good morning. We had a cold rainy weekend. 46 right now but the sun is trying to come out. My husband signed papers yesterday to put the water front property for sale. Now we wait.

Momsof2boys: Sissy "The Nanny" sounds like she was a wonderful dog. I love dogs!

Mean Queen: You topped everyone's weekend. I enjoyed hearing about your trip. Staying at Boardwalk and being able to walk to a park sounds great. Watching fireworks and Illuminations from your balcony sounds like a dream. WOW! Now you have Wilderness Lodge to look forward too. I would love to stay there someday. Looking forward to hearing about that trip.

it was on the "Has anyone seen the Tag Fairy lately?" thread. Some of the folks on there have gotten the most unique tags lately (scrolling hula girls, dolphins) so I just said that as a tag spectator, I thought these were the coolest and most imaginative tags I had seen on the Dis. I didn't expect a tag for that, it was just a compliment. :confused3

But I am way thrilled to have gotten it!

To those of you selling property, I know it's a silly myth, but try burying a statue of St. Joseph. Try it anyway. There is a whole legend behind it.

Maybe it's just a Maryland thing, but many people swear by it and it can't hurt.

LOL, I signed my name twice above. How embarrassing. I also forgot (bad Mommy) that my daughter's senior prom was this weekend. Only because daddy got to see her off and not me who was stuck with 10 Cub Scouts in the woods.

MeanQueen's telling about the Atlantic Dance Hall reminded me. What a wonderful place to have a prom!

If I had one, I would give it a try. Please excuse my ignorance, but I don't know the history/legend behind St. Joseph. Like you said, it can't hurt.

What did you daughter say about her prom? Did her friends make a night of it, maybe go to an party afterwards and spend the night somewhere? Hope she had a good time.

They sent me a couple pictures via cell phone. I was happy to see them and show them off at camp.

They didn't go to the after party because her boyfriend's sister got married the same day and they were just so tired afterward. They had a wonderful evening though and pretty much went to his house and hung out with his parents awhile, then she came home. She's a really good girl. I'm so lucky to be her Mom.

I hope they took lots of pictures, because I'd hate not seeing my DD go off for her Senior Prom (if she goes, I didn't.) You are not a bad mommy since you were nice enough to spend the weekend in the woods with 10 Cub Scouts. I know I wouldn't be that nice. :rotfl2:

WOW, that is one busy day they had. When is graduation? My daughter is a Junior and going to prom the Sunday before Memorial Day. I hate they have prom on that day every year. I don't like it messing with Memorial Day weekend. We always go camping that weekend, but she and I may have to come home Sat evening/Sunday morning. Besides wanting to see her before prom, I don't want my house hosting an after prom party while we are away. :lmao: Now I will go read the link you sent.
