What type of food festival? Ssounds yummy.

It's called the "Taste of Pinellas". Restaurants from all around the area set up booths and sell a "taste" or small bit of food. The money goes to All Children's Hospital. It's a great children's hospital here in town. Both of my DD's have spent time there. My little one was in the NICU for 10 days after she was born 6 weeks early. So we like to help out when we can. Plus, we like food. Last night, Rick Springfield performed. On Sunday, it's Eddie Money. I don't remember who is tonight.

90! I'm having a hard time imagining that as I am sitting here with a sweatshirt on.

Still 70s and muggy here! I'm in a t-shirt and my shorts-overalls. Windows are open and it has that thunderstorm feel outside today.... I love this weather!

YUM and what a great way to earn some funds.
I would liked to have seen Rick Springfield. I remember him on General Hospital.

Well, I've gotten three loads of laundry washed, dried and folded, plus finished setting up my garden and getting the last 6 tomato plants in. Then I watered it all with plant food.

Does that count?!!

Oh, and I mowed the back yard earlier.

You have accomplished much more than me. I wanted to help my brother build his firepit, but I didn't feel like working in the rain. I should have been doing laundry like you, but I didn't. There is no excuse for my lack of motivation.

Our weather was rainy, now sunny.

We just watched the shuttle launch on TV. I cry every single time. It just makes me emotional.

Did you ever watch the shuttle lift-off MeanQueen?

LegoMom--I'll try your suggestion with the keyboard. I got a couple things to work for me. I'm glad you were able to have your wine, even though you had to work at it.

NO!....but I posted a short time ago over on the "Has anyone seen the Tag Fairy..." thread, just for good measure. I feel like we're being overlooked here....

Either that or the TF doesn't like us! :duck:

Granted, I already have three tags and perhaps I'm just being selfish and greedy, but that's what Tag Envy will do to a person...:rolleyes1

I know what you mean. I am so, so grateful for my tag. However, I would like a little character now. I would just like to have a little tag pet or something.

Mean Queen--I am an autism specialist for a school district. I write ABA treatment plans, visit kids, diagnose kids with autism, go to meetings--basically I am a jack of all trades in autism.

I have done nothing today and I'm just working on my October trip right now. The kids are helping their dad wash the truck, though.

Hey, at least you have a tag. Well, perhaps it's now cool to be tagless. If that's the case, I'm the coolest of the cool.

I've been to the grocery store, vacuumed the house, did two loads of laundry and mowed the front and side yards last night.

I think you're way cool! :cool1: You do important and difficult work it sounds like.:thumbsup2

I was just recently tagged. I know what it is like to be tagless, trust me. But try posting over on the Tag Fairy thread and you will likely get one eventually.

In the meantime, have some pretty flowers to cheer you up! (Hey, LegoMom, look---no hands!!!)

:goodvibes Aw, shucks (in my best Goofy voice--which is my normal voice)

I absolutely love flowers :lovestruc

I've been working with kids with autism for 25 years--since I was in college. I still don't know what it means to be an "autism specialist". If it means I've got kids with autism figured out, then perhaps they need to go ahead and give me another job. I think the only thing I've gotten figured out is that every kid I work with is different. :confused3

Right now, I am actually doing is planning my next trip, which TGM so kindly tells me is 146 days away I think :)

Since school is out, all I have going on right now is that there are no people to supervise--I have to clear paperwork and since the district doesn't want to employ anyone extra, I get to actually serve the kids this summer that I only observe during the year. At least I have realiztic knowledge of what works for the kids when I go into my transitional meetings and treatment plan updates in the fall. But when school begins in August, I will have to teach 2 classes at the high school, supervise all of the low incidence disabilities classes, assist the director of special services, transition kids out of early intervention, and to quote my contract "fulfill any other duties required by the building supervisor." Whew. Apparently they think I don't have enough to do. I think if I have the trip planned by the end of the summer, I'll be able to enjoy it.

Apparently I've made it my job to create new word spellings as well.

Smileybug did that earlier! I'm not sure she even noticed, but in spelling "babnana" (which is a spelling all on its own!!) she wrote "babananas". There's an extra "a" in there, Smileybug!!

I haven't made it to the Cape. But we do try to watch it live then head outside to see it in the sky. We did today. I remember in school we always got called out to see the shuttles go by, until the Challenger. My gifted class was the only ones watching it live for class, everyone else was outside waiting to see it go by. :( So I also get chills when one goes off successfully.
