All we have in our yard are a bunch of lizards, some very cute bunnies (that procreate like, well, rabbits), many insects and squirrels. There is the rare snake, but I have yet to see one. Though I did see some manatees who got lost and made their way into a drainage ditch near my home a few months ago.

I've been helping my oldest with her school project today. It is so hard for me to not just take over completely. I had to get her started and walk away.

Just checking in this morning. Do any of you watch Ghost Hunters? There's a thread going on about them and the episode they did last week from the Mt. Washington Hotel right here in NH! It was a pretty creepy show... That resort is in the northern part of the state, but since nothing in NH is terribly far from anything else in NH, we've been up by it several times. It's an amazing piece of real estate but I've always found it a little bit creepy. My kids saw the episode, too, and are now adamant that they never want to stay there. I just assure them that if I ever HAD almost $400/night to spend on a place to sleep, it would be at a deluxe resort in WDW!!

Oh yeah!! They caught some amazing EVP audio and said it's an "intelligent" haunting (instead of "residual") because of the interaction that went on! That was confined to Room 314, however - the Princess Room (some princess stayed there and it's her original bed that's still there...apparently she used to travel with it...?!).

Someone on that thread said you can see the episodes on the Sci-Fi Channel web site.

My boys are SOOO into the legend of Bigfoot! We've seen numerous documentaries on the Discovery Channel and the like and they are convinced.

Funny how we're so opposite, weather-wise! We're finally ABLE to open up the house! I have all the windows open and there's just enough of a slight breeze to keep it comfy. It's 83 degrees here right now but very dry (and I do mean VERY!...our forest fire danger is at its highest level). This is also unseasonably warm for April in New England, but I'm certainly not complaining!!

LegoMom, you can spell my name anyway you want. We have all known each other long enough. As far as the Big Foot legion goes. I'm kind of hooked too. I know, I'm an adult woman. Go figure. We have actually had a sighting in the upper part of the state. SCARY It supposedly attacked a mini van. Scratched and dented the hood. Left streaks of blood too. I'm not really sure if the blood belonged to the Big Foot or the mini van. But this story actually made the nightly news.

Hello all! Just checking in today. It's hot outside but there's a nice breeze. Though I wouldn't be without the a/c in the house. It's way past just having the windows open time.

It's a little cool heere today. I had one window open and closed it. I got kind of cold.

I can't believe ya'll are so dry after the winter you had. That just seems so odd. We were in serious drought conditions here. Our lakes were drying up. You could walk way out on the lake beds before seeing any water. It was kind of creepy doing that. But now they have come back up enough so that most of the boat docks are open again. This winter the boys were riding 4 wheelers out there. Now they are able to take the jet skies back out.

"Oh no, Daddy, I was wide asleep."

Hey LegoMom!!! How was your day? I have been a busy little beaver today. I won't be home tomorrow. I have jury duty. NOT!! I love little kid blunder stories. yours was cute. I wonder what has made that little girl think she was WIDE A SLEEP? I have always loved the stories where little ones tell on their parents. Or repeat things they have heard their parents say (That is when it wasn't me they where telling on or repeating. )

Jury duty? I haven't been called since I was in college. I was only 18 but I was made the foreman because my dad is a lawyer. Now I must be on the do not call for jury duty list because I haven't been called back since. If you want to get out of it, just tell them the guy looks guilty.

There probably isn't a list, but if there was, I wouldn't be surprised if anyone who was a member of the local media is put on it. If you actually know about the cases, they automatically kick you out (if it's high profile.) I actually didn't mind serving and would do it again if it wasn't such a pain to find childcare.

This was exactly the problem I ran into when I was called almost 2 years ago! I showed up on the first day, because you HAVE to, and I managed to find someone to watch my then-4-yr.-old for that day. But I had nobody available the rest of that week if I got chosen, so I had to sob-story the group leader. SHE was very sympathetic but the female judge I had to talk to was a PILL! If she had been hard-nosed and made me come back, I was going to show up with my son!! I mean, WTH are you supposed to do!!!? Parents of young kids should be exempt. You have your whole life after that stage to be available to be called...
