Tagless Dis'ers / Formerly Tagless Dis'ers UNITE! - Part II

Hello everyone! I finally got a chance to post.

Hmm...Legomom, I don't think it's working. Actually, if you stare at a tag long enough you can sorta pretend its blinking. Or if you scroll down fast enough all the tags look like they're following you...

I'm wondering, do any of you have cats??

We have one. Every morning I'm awakened to the sound of his "morning frenzy" routine.....:headache: He tears up and down the house (which isn't all that big!), up and over things, and his favorite pasttime lately is knocking plastic magnetic letters off the fridge and whacking those around the kitchen. We have laminate flooring which is great fun for that, not so much for kitty traction..... He's learned to take his corners wide! :rotfl:

I have 3 cats. :cat: :cat: :cat: Lightning, Minnie, and Goofy (who lives up to his name.) He loves knocking stuff around the floor, preferably late at night. Minnie and our older cat, Lightning are both fat and lazy. Though you never want to get on Minnie's bad side. When a stray comes around our house, she flips out like a wild cat. Again, usually around 3 or 4 in the a.m.. In my next life, I'd like to be a lazy house cat.

They're all blinking, if you blink your eyes really fast. Or they can move it you have a laptop and move it back and forth really fast.

Oh, DeterminedOne and Mean Queen, looks like you guys are getting an "American Idol" attraction in the World!....

I'm not a huge fan of the show (too painful to watch sometimes!!) but at least it's something current!

I don't have any pets. In fact, I'm afraid of cats. People laugh when I tell them that, like how could anyone be afraid of a cat, but it's true. :rolleyes1

Happy SATURDAY!! I don't have to work today do dah, do dah. ::dance3:

Hey - where's everybody hanging today? Looks like I'm the only one with some free time to Dis. :flower1:

Well, I just asked DH to a movie so we're deciding what to see. It will probably be the new Martin Lawrence movie, Roscoe Jenkins Welcome Home. Now I would love to see The Eye with Jessica Alba but talking DH into seeing a thriller is difficult. We'll see ...

I can't help but think about work. My boss took me to lunch the other day and talked favorably about me getting the job. He said everyone is excited about me. He advised me to negotiate the right salary saying once a salary is set it's difficult to get a raise unless you get a promotion. I trust him on that since he has been there over 30 years. He was also candid about the responsibility I will be faced with, which I recognize. A lot of the responsibility is for the skill set of a manager but the job title is supervision. All the more reason to negotiate money ... if I get the job. popcorn::

Hi D! I'm around. Just popping in since I saw your post come in (yay for e-mail notification!).

I went grocery shopping earlier this morning. Now I'm just hanging around waiting for the snow to start....:headache: I will be scrap booking another few pages shortly.

Nothing else going on!

My DS11 saw a show on TV last night all about Sea World. Then, he asked when we could start seeing other stuff like that when we go to Florida.... :scared:

------------

ETA: Hey I just noticed your new pic in your siggie!....LOVE it!!
.

I went and got my hair done today. We have date night tonight, but we can't figure out what to do yet.

DO - Sounds good about your lunch with the boss. Did he give you an idea about what salary range to ask for? You don't want to ask for way too much, but you sure don't want to get too little since raises are scarce.

No, not directly. I know the range the job will pay based on the posting. I want the high end which is $3,000 less than the max. The market research I've done indicates the figure I want isn't unreasonable. If they make an offer I hope it's equal to or more than that. If not, I will negotiate. His advice made it sound like I would have some bargaining power.

Have I mentioned lately that it's snowing here?.....again?!

We finally got rid of the snow then it turned into flooding for parts of the city. I have to take a completely out of the way route to work because so many streets are closed. Tomorrow we're expecting record cold temps with below zero wind chills. How much snow are they predicting for you the next few days? Let's Think spring!

BTW, thanks for the compliment on my new siggie pic. It was taken at Cape May breakfast buffett. He was a frisky little guy and flirted with me for a good five or ten minutes. It was a lot of fun.

We'll probably have another 8" by the time it's all said and done tomorrow. Then it gets frigidly cold and windy. Yay.

We had bad flooding last April. We were actually stuck here for almost 3 days - there are 3 different ways to leave our neighborhood and get to the state highway, and all three were blocked! DH actually drove his van over a section of old railroad bed to get home from work on the first night!! (we found out later that's a $500 fine if you're caught....:rolleyes1 ).

So if you guys are in for a deep freeze, that's not gonna be pretty with all that extra water around!

::yes:: :headache:

Your family has an SUV, right? I recall seeing a Jeep in your pics (I think.) Bet it comes in handy since it sounds like everything is business as usual despite the snow. Next fall I want to purchase a winter vehicle and put the G35 away for the season. It's horrible in the snow -- RWD. Duh! :headache:

Now I understand why we have so many snowbirds. Our bad weather is during the hot rainy Summers, but minus the tropical storms/hurricanes, it doesn't sound as bad as what you guys are going through.

No, that wasn't us. We have a Taurus wagon, FWD, and a big ol' regular full-size van, RWD. The van actually doesn't do too badly in the snow and my DH prefers it to the car. He puts a few 5-gallon buckets full of sand in the back and it has pretty good control. Fortunately his commute is only 6 miles.

I would take southern bad weather over this ANY day!! If I were rich I'd spend my winters in Ocala and my summers in VT or central NH on a lake.

Here is a pic of what it looks like outside this morning:

And a Barred Owl that I spied yesterday afternoon! I'm doing a Winter Bird Count this weekend, so having an owl to report is pretty cool...

Beautiful pictures! What is a Winter Bird Count and who is it for?

The count I did this weekend is organized by the Audubon Society. Basically they are gathering info to keep track of bird species in any given area. If there is a year with particularly high or low counts of certain types of birds, they will log all that info and it helps to see if there is an increase in populations (and why) and likewise if there are some that are in decline. Also we report any "rare" species - birds that "normally" wouldn't be here in the north in winter. Last year I had a Field Sparrow in my yard and apparently that was SO rare that they contacted me to get all sorts of details on it!
