Hey ya'll.
My day has been pretty good. How about yours TK? How is the little man doing in his new school?
Hi, hon! Today was pretty good, it had its ups and downs like any other. I was able to book ADRs for our Sept trip, and finally got it to something resembling what we thought we might do.The new online system and 90 day window with our party size threw me for a loop.
Now, DS in his new school. Honestly it's complicated. Last week, he loved it. He went four straight days without napping (due to two days at school and some weekend activities) and turned into someone I didn't recognize. He was sassing me, and giving me all kinds of attitude and generally mouthing off and saying no.
That's not my child. I think sometimes we don't realize quite how good our children until they really misbehave. So DH and I are now in the process of trying to figure out if it was the new school and perhaps some new influential children, the big life change, or the not napping (which he's clearly not ready to give up completely) or a combination of all that.
So, honestly, I'm not sure how it's going. I hope it goes well. We're going to give it another week or two, but if his behavior continues to deteriorate, I can't see us keeping him there.
It makes me a little misty eyed, you know? I'd love to be a stay at home mom and not have child care issues. I've always wanted to stay at home with him. But I carry our health insurance, and DH covering us would literally double our cost. It's just not financially feasible. We don't make enough. And I only work four days a week, but I feel like it's a waste. A waste of time that could be spent enriching this child.
Sorry. Long vent.![]()
First of all....![]()
You know, even when we like something....it can throw us into a tailspin. So maybe he is reacting to the change. Even though he likes it. TK...being a SAHM isn't always the answer either. It sounds like you have a good mix with your son. He is getting the best of both worlds.![]()
TK, you will find the best choice for your family. I am sure of it. Thebig thing is you have to remind yourself that you have no regrets. You can't because you can't change things later.
Anywho, I'm, home after an 8 hour drive and sleeping 12 hours. I'll start my trip report soon, but I first need to take a look at those photobucket pictures and do massive amounts of laundry.
Hi. It's still raining here and cool. Even worse, it's damp and cool. SO SICK OF RAIN RAIN RAIN.
I know, hon. I'm not sure about your neck of the woods, but word has it, it's supposed to be nice on Saturday. Sunny and maybe even hot. I would love to use my Nana's pool, it would be such a nice treat for DS.
We might see some sun Sat too. My brother wants to have a cook out for the 4th. Problem is that his back yard has standing water and mine is sopping wet and muddy near our firepit. Hoping for some quick drying. I don't think we will be as warm as you. Pool sounds fun.
Uck. My parents yard is clay based. Their basement floods and the yard gets sopping wet, so I here you. Fortunately, Nana's on a sand based yard, so it's much nicer at her house. Which is good, because she has the pool.![]()
Sadiedog--I can't imagine it only being 60 degrees in July. But we could use some of that rain. . .
Ahhhh pool. You guys will have fun. Sounds great but it would have to warm up. It's only 60 here and damp feeling.
Good morning ya'll.Hope its the start of a great weekend for all of you.
