My DD9 saw Night at the Museum 2 and loved it. I hope you had a fun day at the movies.

I have to get laundry done and start packing for the cruise. I want to make sure I have enough clothes to get me through the whole trip. After the cruise, we're staying near Disney but won't have a washer/dryer. So I have to pack a lot.

Hi TK. We saw night at the museum a few weeks ago. It was worth seeing but not as good as the first. The exhibits from the Natural History Museum were funnier than those at the Smithsonian. I don't regret going, though. Let us know what you think. Oh, and Happy Anniversary!

Actually, we didn't end up going. Mom didn't feel like going out, so I borrowed some movies from the libraries and we watched one instead.

Have to pack a lot...music to my ears. I am a serious over-packer. I do it all the time, it took every ounce of strength I had not to overpack for my four day trip in May.

I'm actually thinking about taking DS to see Night at the Museum 2 today. Has anyone seen that? We have a theater near us that charges $6 all day on Tuesdays. Very nice.

It's a little crazy in ye ole TK homestead right now. DS starts his first days of a new preschool this week (2 full days) which is exciting and nervewracking all at the same time. Of course, he's thrilled, so that helps a lot. "I go to my new school??"

I'm in the process of researching different colleges on the internet because I'm looking to go back to school. I'd like to get certified to teach. I already have a BFA, but I'd prefer not to teach art, so that throws a little wrench into the proceedings. And, you wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a school that has programs for non-traditional (ie working) students! It's getting mildly frustrating. One good thing I discovered yesterday is that because of my SAT scores, I wouldn't have to take the Praxis I, which is sort of like an entry type exam to make sure you have the knowledge to move on to certification or a masters in education. So that's a plus!

....guess I COULD take some time off from all my jet-setting, working on my novel, finding a cure for throat cancer, finding an adoption home for all the animals at my local shelter,........

Still no summer job for me. I have sent out 3 resumes this week.

My parents invited DD & I to come down to New Bern, NC on Sunday with them. They will be gone Sunday 6/28 to Sunday 7/5. The only wrench is that DD is supposed to go to her dad's on Friday 7/3 and his birthday is 7/4(yea, he's a real firecracker). So I don't want to switch weekends with him. If it wouldn't be for his bday, I would switch. I don't want to follow them in my car and come back on Thurs. since it's a 7 & 1/2 hour drive, and that's without stopping for food/gas/stretching. I don't feel comfortable driving that far by myself. Driving 5-6 hours alone is at the end of my comfort zone. The Cape May trip this year and Williamsburg, VA trip last year were both within that time frame. Flying is $300 for just us two. That's to expensive. Bus is a 13 & 1/2 hour trip with a 3 hour 15 minute stopover in DC(from about 3:30 to 6 am , I don't think so). Amtrak is first driving 1 & 1/2 hours to a town with service and then a 13 or so hour trip. We would be arriving about 12:30 AM.

Maybe I'll get lucky and get called into an interview. I missed out on getting an interview on 6/8 because that was the first day of our Cape May trip.

Hey guys. Sorry I've been MIA. Between researching schools, getting DS ready to go to a new (all day) preschool two days a week, and some trip drama, it's just been a full week.

Anyway, I hope everyone's doing well. PaMom, I hope you have luck finding a summer job. I imagine how frustrating that can be.

Smiley, thanks for the warm wishes and confidence that I'll find something. I know I will, I just had no idea it would be quite so difficult. I do know, however, that all good things take some work. I just wish it wasn't quite so much.
