It's my understanding that the tag fairy is random. I do have a tag that I asked for, when my cousin was serving in Iraq last year. The tag fairy is pretty smart - my tag was done in red and they chaned my location color to gold (FYI red & gold are the Marine Corps colors and the tag is the Marine Corps motto). I've been on this board for years and never been tagged, but I see people who are newer (with less posts) that get tagged. I think the tag fairy might "lurk" on some boards more than others.

How does the tag fairy decide what your tag is? Does he/she look at your posts and come up with a tag depending what your posts read?

Tagging....may be a scary thing.

I've been active since Dec 2001.

With the exception of refillable mug threads, I avoid touchy subjects.

I've heard of the tag fairy, but didn't get how it works. So, people who put their own little line in are in black, but the ones with color were done by some mysterious person...The Tag Fairy.

Is that right? And are we sure that The Tag Fairy is a girl?

There's nothing to get...it's completely random. Basically the "Tag Fairy" flits from thread to thread and when he/she sees something amusing they will put a tag (something the poster said, or something personal about them, etc.) under the user name. Only the ones in color are from the Tag Fairy, the ones in black are "self-inflicted".

So, your job is just to be patient (oh...and witty, clever, sincere, or whatever catches the Tag Fairy's eye!).
