Tablet questions????

Kinda of new to the tablets...... Can you use programs like word, excel with them? especially word?

I want to get one to use in the kitchen for recipes, etc. Would love to put a file of my recipes on it to use?

Trying to see if they would be worth the $$ I have an Itouch but would like bigger text

You can get read documents in Word on the iPad, but there is no real filing system. You can keep documents as attachments to email or in the "cloud" and download them when needed. You can also get apps which would allow you to create and modify word documents.

Another option is to convert documents to .PDF and store them in iBooks. That is what I do with documents I want to read in the iPad. -- Suzanne
