I understand why TIW has the most popular restaurants blacked out on all times except May 29-June 18. Is that time period really more busy than the normal summer months, end of June, July and beginning of August?
I'm starting to worry a little because we've planned a trip May 28-June 3. The last few years we have gone in early December but when we last went during this time period in 2011 it wasn't super busy.

Thanks in advance!

Memorial Day is in that time period. Star Wars weekends are from mid-May (school is still in session for some of that) to mid-June.

I personally don't feel the following are the MOST popular restaurants, but these are the ones affected by those blockout dates: 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey’s, ‘Ohana (Dinner Only), Cinderella’s Royal Table, LeChefs de France, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, and Le Cellier Steakhouse.

If I had to guess I would think that possibly many book for graduation celebrations. I found those dates strange to and this is the only reason that makes sense for that time frame. If it was just the weekend around Memorial Day I could see that being blacked out but if Star Wars Weekends was a reason it should be a longer blackout period.

If my husband didn't love O'Hana and if I didn't want to try to surprise the kids with eating in the castle I would be fine with avoiding them as well. Guess we'll have to hope we can get a ressie for at least one of them on our first night.
