Can someone tell me how the Tables in Wonderland works.

I know I can get it for $75 because we are passholders. I know it is a 20% on certain restaurants. But how does it work really.

We will be staying at SSR our next trip and then AK Kidani the next one and Pop Century possibly after that, all in the time period of the card I want to purchase.

So I understand I can use it at counter services at POP and SSR, but not at Kidani (Mara). Right? Do I just show my card when I pay at the counter at the CS places? Can I use this card for all my family (we are going to be a total of 9) for all our sit down meals and then for the checking out at the Counter service restrst? I really just want to understand how to use the card.

With 9 in your family it will probably be cost effective for you. If you would spend more than $375 on food at TS restaurants, that is. You can use it for up to 10 people but I believe it has to be on one check.

The general rule is if a Resort does not have a TS restaurant, you can use the TIW card. The Pepper Market at CSR may be the exception. You hand it to the cashier when you check out.

It is definitely worthwhile. It is good for the person in whose name the card is, plus up to nine additional people on the same check. Normally it will be presented to the server after the bill is presented, or, if at a counter service location, to the cashier at the time the order is being rung up.

Here is a working example, using $100.00 as the original bill to make the math show up easily. Note this example is for Table Service. At Counter Service there is no gratuity added.

100.00 - Original Amount
20.00 - Discount
80.00 - Subtotal
18.00 - Gratuity Added based on $100
5.20 - Sales Tax on $80
103.20 - Final amount charged, takes into consideration discount, gratuity and tax.

Without TiW Discount (and still figuring 18% Gratuity)

100.00 - Amount of Bill
18.00 - Gratuity
6.50 - Sales Tax on $100
124.50 - Total
$21.30 - Savings using TiW Card.

(Note - At Victoria and Albert's the added gratuity is 20% instead of 18%.)

Thank you both! I think this definitely will benefit us for at least the next two trips. Our next trip to SSR is a "no park" trip and so we will be eating at Downtown Disney and the resort restaurants. I was thrilled to see that Artist Palette at SSR is on there!!!!

I can see I will get back my $75 bucks back pretty quickly!

Can I buy it at Downtown Disney? Do I just go over to Guest Services?? Thanks so much!

The break even point for an AP TiW card is $375, not $750 as posted above.

CSR does have a TS restaurant (Maya Grill).

There are only nine counter service restaurants at WDW that accept TIW. These are the four value resort food courts, the food court at POFQ, Artists Palette at SSR, and the three Disney-owned CS at Animal Kingdom Park. Used to be that SSR and AK didn't have TS restaurants. Although they've added TS restaurants, TIW never removed the CS at SSR and AK from their list.

Keep in mind that you can use it for a party of 9, but you can't split the check. If you split the check, only the cardholder's check can have the discount applied.

Yes I was wondering how the check works. So if I pay for everything on my Disney Visa card (or can I pay on KTTW card??) and show them my TIW card it will be off the whole check. What about CS? Do I have to wait for everyone to order and then gather them all up to pay? That should be fun! Can my sister go run and get food using my TIW and KTTW card at Artist Palette or do I have to have a picture id? I have a feeling I am going to be the one doing the running around! Oh well! Doesn’t the AP give you a 10% discount at most TS, excluding alcohol? So for food the break even is $750 (75/(.20-.10)). That being said, it does sound like it makes sense for you.

I am sure you will not need to run everyone through at once but you will need to be there with your card when each of them is run through. I do not remember ever being asked for my id when we have used the card but it may depend on the amount.

The only places I've been asked for ID (to match the name with my TIW card) were the food courts at the Values and POFQ. Every where else I used it, they didn't ask for ID. Part of the TIW rules is that the cardholder has to be the one paying, but I've had no issue at sit down locations when people with different last names than me used their credit card to pay. I just stick my TIW card in with the credit card when they bring the bill.

So at the CS locations, you'll probably have to gather everyone up to pay and have them all on your check in order to get the discount.


I also love the free valet parking at resorts! You still have to tip, but hey, $5 bucks for valet? I'm in!

The AP food discounts are far and few between compared with TIW, and have a lot of restrictions, like weekdays only, or certain meal times only. I just typed it out for someone else:

A year is what they say, but we usually wind up with about 13 months going by the card expiration date.
And don't forget free valet parking comes with the card!!
And as cbg1027 says, the Ap is good only at very few WDW TS spots.

I've never had trouble using the card and having someone else pay - it doesn't matter who pays, but the cardholder needs to be present and on the check.

Sometimes they do ask for ID at table service restaurants, so be prepared. I believe that's to determine that the cardholder is present. I don't think it matters who pays as long as the cardholder is there.

OP - I would not risk giving your sister the card to use without you being present.

Unfortunately it can't be purchased unless you are a FL resident or have an AP. In fact, for many years it was available only to FL residents.

The current cost for a year's membership is $75 for annual passholders and $100 for Florida residents who are not annual passholders, and it's not available for anyone who doesn't fit either of those categories.
