Tables In Wonderland Question

:confused3 Tell the servers and managers that. ;)
I would say I had at best a 50/50 chance.
It was more unusual I got a beverage discount without asking. Can't tell you how many times I had to have my bill re-figured while they corrected the discount to be allowed on ice tea and Cokes. Sometimes I just said forget it. Wasn't worth the wait for the bill to be re-calculated.
And consider I have not used it for probably 3 - 4 years. Hopefully this is much better.
However as mentioned my last straw was a server and manager at GF Cafe refusing the discount on coffee and juice at breakfast.
The manager told me the beverage discount was only good on alcohol beverages! :sad2: (WRONG!) But he would not budge.
Haven't bothered to return there to eat. And did not renew.
Not that the restaurant ticked me off that bad. But doesn't bring back warm fuzzy feelings or MEMORIES ;) of my last meal there.

Just chiming in to say that I have never had any issue using my TiW card for anything...beverages or food. I have had my TiW card every year for about 4 years now...and will be renewing it for upcoming trips.
However, I will be heading to the official WDW site, and will be printing out the info that states the TiW gives a 20% discount on food and beverages in WDW. Then, if anyone questions me, I can just pop that info out and prove it. No way am I going to be stopped from using my TiW discount for my beverages, of any kind, at my sit down meals at any participating restaurant....period!

Thanks for this thread! I was looking for the same info about TiW regarding the tax % and tip amount being added when on the bill.

We're going twice this year, for a total of about 15 days in the parks. It would be silly to not get at TiW card, right? (2 adults first trip, 4 adults second trip).

Sorry if I missed it, but what is the actual tax % amount? (Gotta love excel sheets...)

The basic Sales Tax rate in Florida is 6.0% and is on most goods and services. The counties have an option, by vote of their residents, to add a surtax of 0.25%, 0.5%, 1.0% or 1.5% to the state rate.

Orange County, which is most of WDW, has a surtax of 0.5% so purchases (including meals) are taxed at 6.5%.

Osceola County, which has the All-Stars Resorts and Wide World of Sports in it, has a 1.0% surtax so purchases at those locations are subject to a 7.0% tax.

In addition, counties are allowed to have a tax on transient lodging. In both Orange and Osceola Counties it is 6.0%, so all lodging except the All Stars is 12.5% while the All Stars, in Osceola County, is 13.0%.

TIW is so worth it, IMHO... especially for alcoholic beverages LOL! Never had a problem using it.
