Hi all, I was considering doing the Tables in Wonderland with AP Discount this trip. I just went on Disneyworld website to make sure some of the restaurants I wanted to eat at were on there, and there were almost NONE, plus most of the restaurants, you could only use discount for breakfast and lunch?? Is that different this year because I have seen numerous people saying how much money it saves, and I just can't see that being possible with not even being able to use it on dinner. Thanks in advance for any input!

Heres the link to what I was looking at
http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/passholder-program/dining-discounts/

WOW! They removed a lot of places. I doubt I'll renew. I've been getting this for years. Doesn't seem like a good value now.

I used mine for the last 2 weeks of January and didn't have any problems using anywhere we ate. OP I looked at that link, that is the discount passholders get for holding an AP. The list for TiW holders is the same extensive list as always to include some places at the Swan and Dolphin now.

I'd double check before I voted it down. There are certain discounts at a small number of places that are at specific times that ANYONE with an AP can get.... no need to buy TIW. However, when you buy TIW you get a bunch more. Take another look.... I think you are looking at the general AP discount on dining and not TIW.

Disney, as usual, screws up their Web Site!!!!

The link posted is to the dining benefits of the Annual Pass. The first thing it talks about is TiW and then it gives where you can get a 10% discount (not 20%) by using you pass directly. This does not include dinners or alcoholic beverages.

If you look at the link in Post #5 you will see the TiW list.

Here's the info from the passholder site:

Passholders can enjoy Tables in Wonderland for just $75

Now you can savor the flavors of the Disney restaurants you love and save big too! We've always made out like bandits with the TIW card---made much more sense for us than free dining. We always book room only with the AP discount or with a PIN code and pay oop for food and drinks---gotta love the 20% off drinks! :thumbsup2

LOL Kathie, I scared myself too. I was really banking on the 20% off most restaurants! Now I can continue my dining reservations in peace h

Cheshire-Totally agree with Disney's website screwup...Link that said TIW took me to wrong info. Maybe it's a moneymaking strategy to get less internet savvy people away from discounts?

There is a thread like this almost every week, I cannot believe such a large corporation cannot do a better job with their information.

This is an interesting thread. I bought the dining plan instead of getting the TIW. Maybe I should reconsider. This is our first year with an AP. Is TIW a better value (when you're looking at the correct list of restaurants:lmao:)??

The value depends on eating habits. We prefer getting an app and spliting it, DP does not cover this. We seldom get desert and when we do we split it. So for us the DP covered things we did not get regularly and did not cover things we did get.

We bought the TIW card in Dec for $75. It saved us $96 on that trip, so net savings of $21. But we will use it again in May savings and then again in Oct. estimated $100 saving for each of those. So those will be the real savings.

Before we retired over eight years ago, my late wife and I were both career Federal Employees. We developed the following statement which we would tell people:

"Before we started dealing extensively with The Walt Disney Company we thought we worked for the largest bureaucracy in the world."

I can give some real horror stories to substantiate this; and these were from before we moved to Florida.

Please clear something up for me!???! As I am confused, We are AP holders and I am now thinking of the TIW card. We do ALOT of QS meals, but we 3 adult eaters and 1 child it can be $$$. BUT, I see that with the TIW card, there is an automatic 18% gratuity. Is that even on the QS food courts??? It seems that if I have to pay a gratuity on something that I normally don't have to, then the TIW card wouldn't be so great. Can someone who knows help clear this up????

There is no gratuity at the few TS locations that accept TIW.

there is no gratuity to worry about at counter service restaurants.. we use the TIW on our trips and love it...stay at Port Orleans or Movies and our breakfasts there and our snacks and other things are covered......we are on trip two coming up using the TIW card....it pays for itself with our planning and ts restaurants....

there are four places in Animal Kingdom that honor the TIW card too..

Thank you SO MUCH for clearing this up for me! Well, this would totally be worth it for us, and I think we may end up saving more money from this than the QS dining plan. We can easily spend $60 on each counter service meal, using the TIW card, that would be a $12 savings. It would more than pay for itself in no time! Does this go yearly on your AP anniversary OR the date u actually purchase the AP card?
