Downtown Disney has the new restaurant T-Rex opened? what are your opinions, food, wait time, etc.

Can you make reservations for T-Rex through Disney Dining? Does anyone who has eaten here have any reviews?

have not got to eat there yet..they will not be taking resses till after jan though! That i do know!!

a lot of people that have lil kiddies said they were scared:eek: .(very noisy).but my son who was 4 at the time was scared to death:scared1: of the elephants at rainforest..so!!

anyway..goin in dec.:santa: .hope to report then....

We went Oct. 15. The execution is very similar to Rainforest Cafe, but more elaborate. The interior looked great and the food was good as far as I was concerned, but the volume inside the restaurant was so loud it was uncomfortable. I've got 2 and 3 year old kids who were terrified by all the constant and LOUD roaring, crashing, and general noise. We can handle noisy places but this was crazy. The every 20 minutes "meteor shower" they have put our 2 year old in tears. Overall I think most of the restaurant was good, but because of the ridiculous volume level of the place we spent our whole meal reassuring the kids it would be "just a few more minutes" until the food came, until we could leave, etc.

I don't think we'll be back any time soon unless we hear they deal with the noise.

Ditto on the noise. Add that to the blinding colored lights in the ice cave room and it's quite an interesting experience. Kids loved it though.

We actually had a great time there. We took our 17 month old and he was completely fascinated with the dinosaurs and all the movement and colors. We were seated in the under water section, which was beautiful!
Of course it is very over priced, but we thought it was a fun experience :)

We ate at T-Rex on a Sunday evening and were told a one hour wait. We were actually called before that time. It was very chaotic outside the restaurant, the line to get seated and the gift shop. The PP's are correct with the noise level. I think it was a little quieter for us because we were seated in the Coral Room which doesn't have any animatronic dinosaurs. We thought the food was overpriced (but I guess not for Disney). My DD had the rotisserie chicken salad sandwich and I had the footprint flatbread appetizer. My flatbread was huge! It was ok but I didn't care for the one of the cheeses on top (maybe goat cheese). While the waiter was checking on us, my husband bit into his sandwich and found a chicken bone. :scared: The waiter said he would tell the manager and it would be taken care of. He asked if he wanted another sandwich and the manager took it off our bill. My DS's both had the cheese pizza and I was very disappointed in the size of the pizza for the price. They didn't receive any sides either. Our waiter was very nice but everything moved very slowly. He was supposed to get a diet coke refill for me but never brought it. He asked me again if I wanted a refill after my food was boxed up. The boys had to wait for chocolate milk refills and my husband's second beer arrived after he had finished eating. Hopefully, this is due to the restaurant just opening, but I'm not very hopeful of it improving. Alot of manager-type people were walking around pointing out tables that still needed to be bussed since there was a huge line waiting to be taken to their tables.

The gift shop was chaos also. We finally gave up and decided there wasn't anything the boys really needed there anyway! I would suggest that you go once for the atmosphere but keep your expectations low as far as food and service.

We loved it!!! My DF and I went there on Wednesday, and the service and food were great! He got the Chicken sandwich and I got the Lasagna and we had the Nachos.

I would also recomend the Cotton Candy-Tini. It was amazing!

We enjoyed the animatronic dinos and really loved the wooly Mammoth.

Glad I read this and the review. This is off my list. My DD will be 4 when we go again but she was really scared of characters when we went in September. Also next fall my other DD will be a little over 2 so this just sounds like a place they might freak out. Too bad for my DS who will be 6 then but this is one we will have to skip.
