How necessary is it to make ADR for T-Rex? We are staying at POFQ and plan on going here for lunch or dinner one day but want some flexibility. TIA!

Join the Landry's Select Club and you won't need an ADR. You just walk in, show your card, and get priority seating.

I see there is a 25.00 enrollment fee though. We live in VT and are not near any of those restaurants so I don't think it would be worth it for us.

You get the $25 back as a credit on your card, which you can use when you go to T-Rex, so you get your money back.

If you don't use the card and you go during busy times, forget about eating without a reservation. We tried Sunday at dtd for walk up at 5 and they said 8-8:30 would be in seat time.

correct you will get the enrollment $25 back as a credit on your card, they also add another $25 credit close to your birthday.

When you sign up, put the date for your birthday whatever month you are going. ..so you can get your $25 birthday reward. They don't care when your actual birthday is..you still only get the reward once a year. We have tried in the past to walk in during busy times..its was a 3 hour wait... I have had an adr and still had to wait for a bit. I have the select card and I still made an adr for August. I will show my select card so we don't have to wait past our adr though.

We are in Canada (and have none of those restaurants near us either) but still find value by doing as PP sersee05 mentioned. You pay $25 and get $50 - you can use both rewards (new member $25 and birthday reward $25 together) so it's a great deal. I cancelled my ADR and made a reservation over the phone through TRex (plus I will use my Landry card to get seated quicker). We only go to T-Rex once a year, each August, (as we only go to Disney once a year) but the card has been worth it for us (August is my DH's birthday month, so we put the card in his name for the birthday reward).

We went in June for lunch without an ADR. It was a Thursday around 12:30/1:00. There was a long line -- it took about 10 minutes to get to the podium. I was expecting them to tell us from that point it would be a 1 hour wait, but they told us 20 minutes. So we continued to wait (for about 25 minutes). So, it probably just depends upon the day/time.

I think it will just depend on the time and day- I've heard of people calling the restaurant directly (not through Disney) and getting a same day reservation. Last time we were there was in March. We had an ADR for 130pm but decided to stop by at 1130am since we were at DTD anyway to see if we could move up our reservation- the line to check in was really long but they actually seated us immediately. Previously, we tried to walk up one night around 7pm and the wait at that time was 3hrs.

its not necessary at all. Just call them direct to make a reservation when you are there if you have a couple hours notice.

We have a Landry's Select club card that I bought specifically for our trip in June. We were able to walk up and be seated within 10 minutes without a reservation. They were on a 45 min wait. When I registered for the club, I also put that my birthday month was the month of our trip and I had $50 in credits ($25 welcome gift and $25 birthday gift) that they applied to my bill.

My son loves T-Rex so we make our way over every trip. One tip I discovered is call the restaurant direct as they give Disney just a few. We also discovered that ressies made direct with the restaurant wait in a different line and get seated quickly.

Has anyone had experience using your Landry's select club credit for one person's meal and dining plan credits on the other members of the party?

How far in advance do you need to sign up to get your card in time? We would be going on DS 24th birthday

We had an ADR, and still waited outside in the sun for 40 minutes. Very unimpressed.

We went for lunch last week. I called from outside the Design a Tee shirt store and the next reservation was an hour later. We shopped a little, picked up our tees (45 minute wait) then headed over for lunch. It worked out perfectly!

They have a few lines. One to get on the list or let them know you're on the list.

*If you have a card they should have a different line or you go right to the front of the line and show your card and they will go from there*

Once you're on the list or have let them know you're there, you wait to go to the line for seating.

With the card we sometimes still have a wait to get called to that line. But we are called before others without a card.

Then you're in the line to be seated. We've had the longest time waiting in that line. The card doesn't help then, because you were already called earlier to that line because of the card.

And ADRs at most places don't mean immediate seating, because they don't kick people out of their seats. They estimate how long people will eat, and go from that to make the ADR times. If people are dawdling, it changes the timing. So next time you're dawdling over dessert, remember that you might be changing the timing for others who are waiting. :)

Do you get the birthday reward each year??

Yes.

How does the Landry card work if you are on the dining plan and are using credits not cash

If you had no ADR it would get you to the line to be seated first, but you wouldn't use your rewards or get any benefit on the bill. Because you would have dining credits to cover that.
