T-Rex - crowded on weekends?

We're looking at a late summer trip. Mapping out a preliminary schedule, it looks like we could visit T-Rex on our first day (a Saturday) or our last day (a Thursday).

A simple question, then - I know Downtown Disney sometimes gets really crowded and hard to find a parking place. Are weekends significantly more crowded with locals? We would be there for lunch - I know evening parking is almost always really crowded.

One of these lunches would be at T-Rex, the other at Turf Club at Saratoga Springs - a restaurant I really like, as it tends to fly under the radar of most guests. I know that one would be safe on a Saturday.

Thanks for any input here.

We went on a Sat. 11/15 and all we waited was 30 minutes to get seated, just enough time for the kids to a dino. I was surprised I thought it would be longer.

Starting January 5 you will be able to call T-Rex directly to make reservations. Dont know how far ahead they'll take reservations, though.

Thanks - did you drive and park, or take the bus? I guess my biggest interest is parking on weekends vs. weekdays. I figure they will be taking PS by the time of our trip, so the wait at the restaurant itself is less of an issue.

If you're going for lunch, I'd recommend arriving right when they open at 11:00 and get in line. At that time, all of their tables are free and the host/hostess seats you in the order that you are in line. I think we arrived at 11:02 and were way back in line but were seated in about 15 minutes. The kids played in the sand area while I stood in line (unfortunately, no fast passes :) )

We always take the bus, but I'm wondering if parking is still an issue with Pleasure Island now closed. Do that many locals come by just for DTD? I thought that PI was the big draw?
