T Rex Cafe in KC

This past weekend we made it to Kansas City and ate at the only T Rex cafe that is currently open (so far as I know!). I don't know how similar the one will be at DTD, but here are a few photos for those who are interested. Please bear with me - this is my first time posting photos and some of them are a little large!

How was it? Is it similar in feel to Rainforest? Is it worth going to both in one trip?

Oh yeah, I guess I could have mentioned the food! It was very similar to Rainforest - slightly different menu, but very similar selection. I actually prefer Rainforest ever so slightly, but perhaps that is because we only eat there when we go to WDW! It was themed really nicely (if you like dinosaurs!) - I don't think their "extinction" show every 30 minutes is nearly as good as the "storm" at Rainforest though.

Food wise, my food was really good (DH and DD cleaned their plates too), but not necessarily anything extraordinary. We are not planning on doing both on one trip (unless you really LOVE Rainforest Cafe!) - that might be a bit much.

The one in KC has a Build-A-Dino shop (like Build a Bear with dinosaurs) which DD loved! Don't know if DTD will have one of those though.

Thanks for the pictures! My DS LOVES dinosaurs and so if it is open when we go in September we might have to stop in one night.

I have some pictures from the KC one too I never thought to post them mine aren't as good though we were in the room with what looked liek jellyfish on the ceiling I was able to go upstairs and take pictures of my kids at the booth from up above. My ds loved building a dino and my girls LOOOOVED cracking open the geodes

Thanks for posting those! I walked by the one being built at DTD on Sunday and it appears as if the outside has a lot of work to be done still.

Beware though....some kids are TERRIFIED of the dino's. We took 4 grandkids when they first opened and 2 of them cried for nearly the whole time we were there (2 hour wait to get seated and then another hour for dinner). My DH said he would never ever return. So far I haven't convinced him to try it again.
