T-Day Cruisers 2011, November 19-26th, 2011

Well tons of rain down here, not that I would know anything but the inside of a Courtroom this week, and we are still not done...heading back to Ft. Pierce on Wednesday since there is a Judge's conference earlier in the week...but at least this is a defense case (so all that time is billable hourly)...did not leave court until about 7pm tonight and had to drive back to South Florida in major downpour..the whole way.

Major snow coming our way today too! I don't mind though as I have some major studying for a promotion to do..... being snowed in is okay with me. Plus in a few short weeks we will be sipping mojitos poolside. :thumbsup2

We are doing the honey moon beach and snorkeling adventure in St. Martin... my DD and I can't wait to swim with the sea turtles. Has anyone done this? What are your thoughts?

Thanks Elsie

So far nothing but rain here, but very cold and windy.

Was initially glad to be traveling to Miami this week for work to get a little taste of warm and sun, but it's pouring there, too.

We have not done the honey moon tour, but it sounds like a great one - maybe when the kids are a bit older (or we just leave them on the ship that day)

Well, we've had two inches of snow already, and it wasn't supposed to change over to snow yet. All my kids activities were cancelled today, and we're feeling kind of shut in. I'm so ready for it to be three weeks from today.

Elsie, can you give more detail on the honeymoon beach and snorkel in St. Maarten? We still don't have plans for there. Is the beach on the Dutch or French side? Is it an excursion through DCL, or on your own? Thanks.

Lauri

St. Maarten will be 12 meter regatta for us again, and DS Mason (12) will be trying it too....just about best excursion we have ever done...anywhere...

and then probably shopping...good jewelry deals there if you happen to hit the right day, and Lisa has done quite well on this island, jewelry-wise.

Chuck,

Enlighten me, what is the 12 meter regatta?

The FE group is now CLOSED!

It is 4 hours early, but I'm willing to gamble that we will not have anymore late comers at this point. :thumbsup2 (and I may not be on the computer tomorrow;))

Everyone should have the link. If you have any questions, please let me know. I will have a few extra copies of the list with me onboard, so just in case you forgot yours :scared1: you can check with me.

1. Please post final FE group.

2. 12 meter regatta - 2 hour "race" of the yachts formerly used in the America's Cup worlds championships....basically, you fly across the bay on Dutch side...and you help sail, for real, though there are professionals on board of course.

I so much want to do this but our youngest is too young for it (according to Disney). Wondering if they allow 7 year olds on the excursion if you book it directly instead of through dcl.

Chuck,

The list is off-site. I won't post it here because of information on it. If I haven't sent you the link, I can PM it to you.

The regatta sounds like a blast. We'll have to check it out next time we go EC intinerary.

Chuck correct me if I am wrong but I think even if you try to book one on your own the age is either 10 or 12....I know it is some tough work so I am guessing that is why. We have a 7 year old as well that is why we will just be going to the beach :)

So we got slammed with this storm. We lost power yesterday in the early afternoon and are not suppose to get it back until tomorrow night at the earliest. Thank godness for generators. They actually closed the schools for tomorrow. We received 10 and half inches of snow.

Lauri - it seems as though I am having brain malfunctions. Sorry but we are doing the honeymoon beach in St. Thomas, not St. Martin. :sad2: Too much studying. I sure do need this vacation.

Got most of my fish extender stuff done. Now that we have the official count, I feel a little more relieved.

Hi Michelle-

You are correct. The site for the Regatta does not recommend the excursion for children under 10--unless they have experience sailing. Mason is very excited about the cruise and he is excited about being old enough for the Regatta!!

Lisa and Michelle are correct....the sailing is fantastic, but not for young children...that said, Mason stayed back on the ship the first time we did the excursion as he preferred the Club/Lab at that age anyway.

Ah well. Thanks for letting me know. Just a couple more years then. DD likes the clubs but we want to do some St. Martin stuff we haven't done yet. Been to Orient but never to Marigot or Grand Case. I think we are going to just taxi to those two locales and enjoy the day.

Just looked at some old navigators online and have to say how excited we are for this itinerary. This will be our 12th cruise but we haven't done an eastern for years. And our last 3 cruises have been very port intensive (a 7 night western, a five night bahamas double dip and a 7 night Med) so the extra sea day -and more importantly the flow of this sailing with the 2 sea days first - is exactly what the doctor ordered. Kids will get to do all their favorite activities, lots of time for family activities and adult time too. Now I remember what I just loved about this itinerary. Can't wait!

Has anyone heard what the movies will be for sure? Is it too early? I told my kids that in about a week we might know for sure, but thought I'd ask anyway. :thumbsup2

Also, is there not a cruise the week before ours?

There should be a cruise every week save for dry dock, which is not applicable here.
