Syracuse to Orlando Thru Pittsburgh

We are flying from Syracuse to Orlando in July on USAir. We change planes in Pittsburgh. We have about 50 minutes between flights. Does anybody have any experiance with the Pittsburgh airport. Is this going to be cutting it close or will we be OK? Is USAir pretty good about getting you booked on another flight if you miss your connection? There is another flight that leaves about an hour later from the one we are booked on. Thanks.

Pittsburgh is a very easy airport to navigate, you should have plenty of time!

USAir has moved most of it's regular jet departures to concourse B, concourse A is mostly regional jets (USAir Express). So if you are connecting jet to jet, it will be quick. The only long haul is if you are on a prop commuter (concourse E), then you have to travel from the landside building via the peoplemover.

50 minutes should be plenty of time. I've seen them hold planes for a couple minutes because of people coming off a late connection. They usually read the gate numbers off towards the end of the flight into Pittsburgh, there is a map in the airline magazine so you can see where you are going. Here's what it looks like:

There are lots of places to eat on the concourse if you are looking to grab something quick.
