SWW Jedi Mickey-Best chance to book?

I am trying to get a reservation for Jedi Mickey dinner one of the two days we will be at DHS. I have a reservation that is pretty late right now, so it may not work for our kids. Is my best chance at this point to wait until the week of to try to rebook? Any other time reservations may open up again? We have a party of 8, so it's probably a long shot regardless.

While plans change, especially close to or during the trip, cancellations can be made at any time and they go back into the system immediately. For something with a high demand like the H&V Jedi Mickey Dinner and the fact that you are looking for a table for 8, I would start checking online now rather than waiting. You could also check for smaller sized parties and try to get 2 reservations as close in time as possible. if you are successful with one res, the second will have to be made in a second person's MDE account. You can also subscribe to the cancellation thread for your month, but be sure to read the rules in the first post:

Do you just keep trying to book online every day? I really want to try to book one of the Star Wars meals for the day we're there, but was worried I'd missed the boat. I keep checking over and over, but it's pretty disheartening. (Sorry... first time planning a trip to Disney so this is all new to me!)

I would keep checking. how many people are in your group? it'll likely be easier to find a time for a smaller party, and if you have flexibility with time and dates. also remember that the meals run at the same time as Star Wars weekends, but theyre also offered through the weeks.

you haven't missed the boat at all! make sure to follow the cancellation thread (may or June, depending on when you're going), and check through the day when you can.

for reference: I picked up a Galactic Dine-In breakfast from a fellow DISer, maybe a month ago for the first week of May. I also found the Jedi Mickey dinner for the same week just this evening. there's still lots of movement--check as often as possible and keep your fingers crossed

Yeah, you just got to keep trying every day, as often as you can. I know it's disheartening, but believe me, there's a good chance that eventually you will snag that reservation if you keep up the search.

If you're not already, search for a general meal time instead of a specific time. With hard to get reservations you have to take what you can get.

Thanks for the advice everyone! We booked later than planned, and I know my boys would love to see the characters, so we'd take whatever we could get. It's good to know there's still a shot.
