Has anyone ever had one? If so, what does it feel like? I have a little hard bump, about the size of a pea, behind my left knee. I just noticed it yesterday. I have an appointment with my oncologist, but not until Thursday. Just looking for any insight. I am not that worried about it, but I would like to know what it is.

Yes, I have several, and so does my ds10. I've known others to have them, too. Ds's pediatrician refers to them as "shotty" nodes (because they're the size and feel of buckshot). They're just nodes that have stayed a little swollen and hardened after filtering out bacteria, other icky stuff, etc. :)

We've been told they're nothing to be concerned about and are fairly common, and I'm betting your Dr. will tell you the same thing, too. Best wishes! :shamrock:

I sure hope it's nothing serious. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I freaked out when Hannah was a baby because she developed one behind her right ear. The doctor reassured me it was o.k., but that it might take several weeks for it to go down.

I hope yours is nothing.

DH had one in his neck with turned out to be cancer (he's fine now). My son noticed a lump on his neck 1 yr to the month that my husband noticed his. They didn't take any chances and removed it. Turned out to be nothing more than a benign enlarged lymph node. Best to get it checked out as soon as you can. I wouldn't panic but when it comes to lumps, I wouldn't take any chances!!

With being diagnosed with Lymphoma 2 years ago, I am not going to take any chances with it. I have only been in remission since May of this year.

Sending lots of prayers and pixie dust your way. :grouphug: I know how unnerving this must be. Please keep us informed!!

We had this scare with my 6 year old last winter. His swollen node was in his neck....finally found out it was benign but it was the scariest time of my entire life. I am saying a prayer for you that it turns out to be nothing.

Prayers from here, too. I hope it will turn out to be nothing to worry about.

Well, I go in for my appointment this afternoon. The lump is still there behind my knee. Here's hoping that it is nothing!

Well, I went for my appointment, and I was with the doctor for all of 30 seconds. He said it just feels like a hardening of the vein, nothing to be worried about. He is going to check it again in 4 weeks, and he just said to watch for any changes.
