Switching to cheaper resort question

Hello,

I am traveling down to WDW at the end of June. Right now I have a RO reservation for POFQ. I have paid the deposit and want to call to pay the rest with my Disney Vacation Account in the next few days. My brother is supposed to come with me, but there is a chance he might not be able to go.

My question is, if I switch my reservation down to a value after I have paid, can I get the difference go right on to my reservation for when I am down there for food and extras or will it automatically go back to my vacation account?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It will automatically go back to your original form of payment. They no longer allow you to have a credit balance on your room account.

If your reservation is room only, your balance isn't due until check-in.
