Switching resorts - room only stay

During our upcoming June trip, we will be staying at POP for 3 nights and then moving to the POLY for 5. We are not purchasing packages but purchasing the room only with tickets seperate.

When we move resorts will we get a new resort card or will they put the new resort info on the original card? Either way will they just transfer the number of park days we have left?

you will get a new resort card when you check into the new resort.

If you put charging on your card, make sure you don't lose your first card since charging will be valid until midnight!

You will get a new card when you switch resorts. However, when you buy your park tickets separately from your hotel reservation (i.e. not a package), your ticket is actually a separate item. You'll be walking around with (1) a room key that is good for transportation, charging if you choose, and things like getting EMH wristbands and (2) a ticket to be used in entry turnstiles and fastpass machines. Your ticket will be a completely separate document. As a result, there will be no record on your room key of what kind of tickets you bought. They're wholly unconnected.

For our last three trips, we have gone the room only way and purchased our tickets seperately right before the trip (or before a price increase if we know.) All three times at check in, the room key and tickets have been combined onto one card. Therefore, we each have only one card to keep up with.

As in the past, if they do still combine the room key and the ticket...and if we get a new room key at the POLY, will our remaining park hopper tickets be transferred to the new card?
