switching resorts at check-in?

I have posted my fears of being bumped to a different resort. Now, I'm hoping to be bumped! Do people who get bumped just get upgraded to a nicer room at the same resort or do they get moved to a different resort? Someone posted a week or so that they were contacted and informed that they were being moved with a nice upgrade. Since I have not been called like she was, does that mean there is no chance of moving resorts?

Here's my trouble: We have 3 rooms at POP but they are not together. 1 room is preferred and 2 are standard. I figured we might not be side by side, but we're in different buildings! There are no rooms open to switch any of the rooms.

I'm hoping that when I plead my case, the CM will find another resort that can accommodate our group of 9 in 3 close rooms. It would cost $1700 for us to move to moderate-- way too much for us-- but we're hoping they can work out a way for us to be together somehow!!

PIXIE DUST, PLEASE!!

What are your travel dates? Are you saying that you have been told that POP is completely booked for the dates you are staying? I would think switching the perferred room to a standard room and then requesting them to be close to one another would work.

You'd think so! I've tried over and over and it's been noted on my reservation. Every room is booked solid :confused3 during my stay (Oct 3-13). What a bummer to be in different buildings!

At least we're at Disney!

Hmm... are that one party willing to pay for Preferred but stay in Standard? I bet if you all volunteered for that, Pop would find some way to put you all together, and upgrade some other party instead.

Or, when you check in ask to see a map of the resort. Ask if there are any available first-floor rooms on the back-side (away from pool) of either Sixties building close to two available first-floor rooms on the adjacent Fifties or Seventies building

Since you have 3 rooms, I would think it highly unlikely that you would be bumped to a different resort; and being that Disney is so busy that weekend, even if you were bumped, there would be a good chance that you wouldn't even be at the same resort or with rooms close to each other. I agree with the other poster - if being together is important you might want to call or fax the resort direct, explain the situation, and offer to pay for the one preferred room, but swap over to a standard room.
