Hi! We are arriving at WDW next Friday afternoon around 5pm. We are staying at the All Star Sports for one brief night because it was a "tacked on" night to get us there bright and early for Saturday morning. We are moving to the BCV for our first member stay and have two studios reserved for four adults. I don't want to miss out on park time, but can someone recommend the best way to "move" that morning. I understand we can arrange with the bell desk to have our luggage moved. We will not have a car so this sounds like the logical thing to do. What about checking in? Should we go on over that morning or wait until the afternoon?

You can check in first thing and call later to get your room assignment. As far as the bags, we had a car last time so I'm not sure what to do about that.

The Bell staff at the All Stars can arrange to have your bags sent to the BCV. Make sure you have everything you'll need for the day, since they aren't likely to arrive until after 4:00pm- regardless when your room is ready.

I would go to the BCV early in the day. Your room could be ready early and you can at least get your bearings for the resort. I'd plan to start out at Epcot or MGM and walk over to BCV to check in- they'll give you your room ID (even if it's not ready) and then you can enjoy the parks and just go back to the resort after 4pm and collect your luggage. (The BCV Bell staff will deliver it to your room once you've claimed the bags.)

Alternatively, you could also take a cab to BCV - with your luggage- and have the BCV Bell Staff store it for you right at the resort. Eitehr method will work fine.

Have a great trip!!

Thanks guys! I kinda like the cab idea...there are five adults but perhaps only two of us to make the trek over with the luggage in a cab and just meet the others at Epcot. How much would a cab run between All-Star Sports and BCV?

I'd think you could get a cab for about $15 - the Bell Staff can also arrange that for you too.

This is certainly the way it used to work, but is this still true with "Room Ready?" We will be arriving at the BCV early on 12/9, and I have been concerned over whether the "Room Ready" policy would mean that if a room was not immediately available (and it's very unlikely that one would be at 8:00 AM), then I would have to leave without a room assignment and come back to try my luck later. And that would mean either coming back from the parks just to make another check-in attempt, or would mean waiting until late in the day when room choice might become more limited. (I'm not too picky...All I'm trying for is non-smoking and non-handicapped, the only preferences noted on my reservation.)

It so happens that I spent one night at ASSports last year before transferring to BCV the next day. One additional thing I'd recommend is that I packed a little "overnite bag", just a small plastic bag, filled with the things I'd need for one nite right in my suitcase. That way I didn't have to go rummaging through my suitcase just for the one night stuff. The next morning, I dropped off my suitcase at bell services (I know I could have called and had them come and get it, but this was more convenient for me, no waiting, and I knew bell services had it, watched them fill out the tag of where it was going), then got on the bus to AK. At the end of my day, I just got on the bus over to BCV, checked in, then when I got to my room, I called bell services there and they brought my luggage right up. Very easy! And also, it gave me the opportunity to meet one of the nicest, friendliest CMs I've met in all my trips to WDW-the bell man who brought up my luggage at BCV.

Yes, it works the same way with "room-ready". You will still get your room ID (you won't know what the room number is, however) and you will have a phone # you can call (from any WDW phone) to check during the day. When the room is ready, they'll give you the room number over the phone and you won't even have to go back to the desk.

Enjoy!
