Switching reservations at 7 month point question

I am planning a vacation for April 2008 (Magic Season). We would like to try 6 nights in a one bedroom at SSR - this would require 189 points. Our home resort it VWL - the same 6 night stay at VWL would require 210 points. If I make our reservation for VWL at 11 months (which I plan to do), but am able to successfully transfer to SSR at the 7 month mark - what happens to the extra 21 points from the original VWL reservation that I no longer need?

As long as you are within your banking windows, those points can be banked, or just left in their original use year to be used later in the year.
