So I just switched us from AOA little mermaid rooms to a standard POR room. I thought have a queen bed would be nicer, plus it would give us just a bit more space for the 4 (husband, 7yr, 19 month, and myself) of us. I am just hoping that my 7 year old will like POR just as much. I don't know much about POR and hoping that we don't feel like we are missing out on AOA at all. How is POR for families with younger kids?

POR has a great pool area. And you can also do fun things like renting bikes and fishing. I think you made a great choice!

We were there for 1 night/day (when we had to come in earlier due to a storm coming at home- they had the only availability)- it was great! The grounds are beautiful! Pool is great and we did a bike ride which was a lot of fun. We checked out the fishing hole but no one was catching anything when we were there. Loved the convenience of the boat to DS. Also we liked the QS area. Have fun!

Have stayed at both with young kids. AoA is great, but we really enjoyed our last stay at POR. It is a very quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The boat launch to Disney Springs is fun. And you can walk over to French Quarter if you feel like it.

We love POR! It is very, very kid friendly! Lots of things for the kids to enjoy!

Thank you for the replies! I have been doing research into the resort and I am excited for the splash play area. I do like the idea of having a more relaxing environment to come back to.
