We are currently booked at the Dolphin. Have been seriously thinking about switching to the Swan for the Heavenly Beds. Would you, if this were the only reason? We have two kids 10 & 4 if that is a factor. We'll only be there two nights.

SASMA,

I thought both the Dolphin and the Swan had the "heavenly beds"?! I just booked the Dolphin and requested the "heavenly beds" and was told that my request was noted but not guaranteed? Does only the Swan have these beds?

They call them something else at the Dolphin, and they are replacing the beds slowly, but who knows if it will be done by my stay in June? I think the Swan is all done, and I would love to try out a Heavenly Bed!

Yes, the Swan's renovations are complete and my understanding is that all of the rooms have heavenly beds. Here is one vote to move from the Dolphin to the Swan. Not only are the beds heavenly, but they are queens instead of doubles. Also, the new decor is sooo beautiful. Personally, we like the Swan's size (smaller) over the Dolphin's too. You can stay at the Swan and still take advantage of the Dolphin's restaurants, etc, should you wish.

OK, just what is a Heavenly Bed? I think my Select Comfort bed is pretty heavenly, but I'd like to hear the Swan's definition. Is it one of those "memory foam" beds? Diana

Diana - Heavenly beds have a thick pillowtop on a firm support mattress. On top of the bed they have soft sheets with a down feather comforter and duvet and also lots of pillows. They are very nice to sleep on!

Everyone - I was booked at the Dolphin for my mid May stay. Switched to the Swan yesterday (even kept the great "All Ears" rate!) I'm looking forward to our Heavenly Bed stay!

Please help me with a room number that would be convenient to the Grotto Pool, and Tubbies, with a balcony, smoking room. Do they have ground floor rooms that would fit this description, w/o the balcony of course!

Mitla, those beds do look really great. What kind of view did you have? Did you have a balcony?

The Swan's a bit closer to that walking path to MGM Studios, too...

(I switched 4th of July from Dolphin to Swan...I just like it better).

Samsa,

We didn't have a balcony but were upgraded for free from a "limited view" (Nurse's rate) to this view:

This is what they called a "Resort, Lake view". I did join Starwood so I could say I was a Starwood member, but this was our first Starwood stay so we had no points.

We were very happy with the Swan and would definitely stay there again. I wrote some about our stay on the Swan/Dolphin thread. The location was unbeatable for access to Epcot and the Boardwalk.

We have stayed at both and find the Swan to the better of the two. The advantage of the Dolphin is that it has the store and the breakfast buffet, but we liked the Swan better.
