Switch to CBR for gondolas?

We are booked for POR for this coming Thanksgiving weekend. Now that the gondolas are open, we're wondering if it's worth the switch to CBR? I know we're only a few days in, but if you are currently at CBR and using the gondola system, I'm curious to your thoughts if it's worth switching (all of our other preferences lean to POR).

Bumping
We are in planning mode now and wondering the same thing.

Thanks, YO

Depends what’s important to you. I can’t stand the busses & usually stay Epcot or mk deluxe to avoid them as much as possible. Considering “downgrading” to cbr to save $ since skyway is open.

We much prefer CBR over POR even before the Skyliner. So the switch would definitely be worth it to us.
We haven't stayed at either. What do you like better about CBR/least about POR?

We aren't big fans of the buses either. Our last stay was a split between CR & YC. It was amazing and we only rode the bus 4 times. However, this is a last minute stay that needs to be a bit more budget friendly! The gondolas may be worth it to us especially as we're trying to cram a lot into 4 park days, but I am wondering if it'll be long waits or even a long hike around CBR.

CBR is very spread out so if you’re trying to do more than just go to the parks at your resort that might be annoying. I have friends there now who are staying at Pop & they said the skyway has been wonderful. No waits b/c they load & unload so quickly. Much better than busses they said. I’m inclined to suck up the stuff I don’t like about CBR in order to avoid the busses & save $...or chicken out & stay at mk or Epcot resort again like always lol.

Hmm. We will be doing a lot of park hopping. It'd be helpful for our hopping to HS and Epcot for sure! Since it'll be Nov/Dec I don't see us using the pools unless it's really warm out. We really only need access to the QS to refill our mugs in the mornings. Most likely we'd only eat in the QS our last morning - unless we're at PO then we'll head to FQ for beignets and I've heard their QS is good for gluten free.

We love the CBR. I'm not trying to be ignorant here, but I don't understand the appeal of POR or POFQ. Simple reason being their distance from the parks? The resorts themselves might be very nice, but isn't it a significantly higher amount of travel time to the parks, even if you used buses from CBR? Would definetly like opinions. I just booked for 11 days at CBR for August next year, and POR was the one other resort for our family of 5 that we considered, but I'd much rather be 5 minutes from EPCOT or Hollywood studios than I would be 5 minutes from Disney springs. I'm open to listening :)

I think the drive to Epcot or Hollywood Studios ranges between 7-10 minutes from CBR, while the drive to those two parks from the Port Orleans resorts range between 7-12 minutes. I’m not seeing a significant difference.

That's interesting, I always thought it would be much higher. For a family that loves the pool vibe at CBR can anyone here recommend a split stay between CBR and POR?
