Switch Mama Melrose ADR to Sci-Fi?

Have an ADR at Mama Melrose, but not the Fantasmic package b/c my kids weren't sure they wanted to see Fantasmic again this time. DD picked this restaurant, but I know it gets mixed reviews. I was wondering if we should switch to Sci-Fi instead. We are also doing 50's PT & didn't know if doing 2 "quirky" restaurants would be too similiar and would we get our $$ worth on the DDP (less expensive). Any thoughts? The reviews & food I've seen posted from Sci-Fi look good & I think family would enjoy the theme.

Mama Melrose is one of my favorite restaurants in WDW. You'll definitely want to eat there.

We've never ventured into Mama's, but have been to Sci-Fi several times. I like the atmosphere (although it's a little dark to see the food!) and the food is just okay. Quality wise, it's on par with 50's. However, don't let the "quirky" aspect be a factor, both are well themed, but VERY different. Having said that, if you are up for a good atmosphere and a great meal, make the switch to the Brown Derby...it'll be worth the effort (but remember, it takes two dining credits.).

We've done both, although we have not done Sci-Fi in probably about six years. We prefer Mama Melrose for the food.

We have gone to Mama Melrose our past 2 trips and have really enjoyed it both times. Last year we tried 50s Prime Time and really enjoyed the meal plus the interaction with the CMs, so I would say to leave your ADRs alone.
