We’ve used them and were very pleased with the experience and speed of the results. You do need good wi-fi. One person in your group makes an account and then adds others in party as dependents so that you can all do the test in the same session. You join a virtual queue to connect with the nurse and once connected she walks each person separately through the test. The machine runs for about 30 minutes before giving the result. You photograph that and upload it to your account and Switch sends the formal results certificate via email almost instantaneously. I have seen reports of some kits not working so it’s worth having a back up plan just in case. Also don’t put the batteries in the kit until directed to do so by the nurse. We carried the kits in our carry on luggage with no issues. Delivery took a couple of days from ordering. It’s worth joining their waitlist if the kits are sold out when you go to buy them. I did that the other week and received an email the next day saying that they were back in stock.
Does the device display the results or just a code? By that, I mean do you know if you are negative or positive before you receive the formal email results?

The device shows you the result. You upload a picture of it. They review the picture and send you the results

I’m thinking of ordering these tests for our trip at the end of the month, since I’m not sure what the availability at Walgreens is going to be like with all the new cases.

would love to hear more experiences So we know what to expect.

What is the shipping time to receive these? Does anyone know from recent experience?
We ordered 2 LAMP tests on Dec 27, got one on the 31st, and one Jan 5. we had to order them separately for the different aeroplan accounts.

Why did you need to order them separately? I was able to order 3 at once.

Wdwmom3 - it seemed it would only take one order per aeroplan number when we ordered it….

November, used them to go TO US (rapid antigen) and FROM US (LAMP). 100% excellent experience and will use them again, if necessary, without hesitation. A real worry-reducer, i.e. enough worry with waiting on results without also having to worry about timing/finding test sites etc. etc. The tests themselves are worry-free in my experience.

For those that have ordered the LAMP tests recently, what has the expiry date on them been ?

Thanks !

SW

I know. I feel the same way. For me, it was worth the money spent knowing as long as I have a strong internet connection, I will have my test completed. I have backup tests booked with Curative, just in case something happens.

DH was a little shocked when we were paying our bills, but when I explained to him...he was satisfied and was glad we didn't have to race and hassle of the free tests. For us - it is money well spent.

Now crossing my fingers that we will be negative and this variant will have run it's course and be low again once we are there!

Just a heads up - we travelled with 14 people and 3 of the tests were defective. And we landed in Buffalo and it was very difficult to find another same day test. I would recommend taking extra testing kits in case one is defective.

I’ve heard of some defective tests. They say if one is defective you will be refunded. I’m booking at one of those rapid PCR places (the ones you pay for) as a back up if we need it.

And they're pretty expensive to buy extra as backups. I'd also go for a back-up appt.

Hope everything went well nonetheless for you in Buffalo despite the bump

We used them on the 27th for our return on the 29th and they worked perfectly. This was our experience to a tee.

Hello, we used them last week for our return into Canada. We did them roughly 66 hours before our flight online with a switch health rep. We are a family of 4 and the entire process of testing took about 40 mins. We then waited about 1 hour and 15 mins for all 4 of our results to come in. We then had to take a photo of the test and upload it to our account. That instantly produced our letters for the airline/border.
The entire process took about 2 and 15 mins from start to finish. Very very easy, no stress and we were able to do it from our hotel room while we got ready for dinner.

Now that Royal Caribbean will no longer provide PCR tests on board, I'm looking at this as an option to fly back to Canada this spring. For anyone who has cruised recently, do you think the on-board Wifi is good enough to allow this testing to be done with the online nurse?

We did our RT - Lamp rests today for our return trip to Canada. We did the Switch Antigen tests for our trip here, and it was a great experience. I was worried about the RT-LAMP tests given the reports of defective tests and how difficult it is to get a test here right now. Plus there are five of us so the chances of something going wrong were higher. But it was fantastic. We connected with a rep within 5 minutes. She walked myself and my husband through the rest first, and then we did the 3 kids. All from the comfort of our room overlooking the pool in Hawaii. Highly recommend.

Upon reading other threads here, I am still glad I have our tests ready to pack into the suitcase for our trip at the end of February.

I have changed our plans slightly, as I had really wanted to be in the Keys for the last few days of our trip, but due to limited testing in Key West/Marathon, on the off chance that our Switch Health tests are inconclusive, we are now going to be in the Tampa/Clearwater area. More testing is available if I need to. I will be booking a backup appointment in case something goes awry. Hopefully it is not needed and we will be able to head to hopefully we will be able to watch the Oilers play Tampa, instead of having to do another test.

Also, if we test contract covid before we leave, I will have a test here we can take and hopefully get a tele-appointment to have our test results so that we would still be able to travel

Crossing my fingers that we have enough covid cooties floating around in our systems to protect us so we don't have to do any more extra leg work to travel
