Hey,

Well Spirit is letting people switch their flights for no charge, so we may jump on the offer. Instead of leaving tommorow ,we may try to leave Monday.

Does anyone know if Disney allows you to switch the dates of your reservation yet keep the rate you had?

Thanks

I know someone on the boards will know the answer to granting rates, but not me. ;)

I'm flying to Fort Myers on Saturday. I'm hoping the hurrican doesn't change my plans as well.

Glad you're still going to Disney! princess:

I suggest calling Disney and ask them that question. They would have the most up to date information.

I just did this for a client. They are doing it on a case by case basis I believe. Your best bet is to call Disney directly to see if they will do it for you, or contact your Travel Agent if you booked with a TA.

Stay safe.

American is letting people change flight to a later day but yet for those going to Orlando. So far, Miami and Tampa.

I should be OK as I am leaving Tuesday out of La Guardia which is currently having 3 hour delays/cancellations because of thunderstorms.

The airports will probably be a zoo for a few days.

Well we SWITCHED our vacation!!

We were charged a total of $0.00 by Spirit and Disney!

Instead of going tommorow until Tuesday (August 12-17), we are now going Monday until Saturday (August 16-21).

The price increase of teh flight was $600 and we don't have to pay one cent!!!

The lady from Disney on the phone was amazing , friendly, and in about 3 minutes changed our reservation!!

That's wonderful!

Where are you flying out of? The NYC area airports are cancelling flight because of the thunderstorms we are having so you are probably much better off.

We are flying out of LaGuardia on Spirit Air!

Wow I am so happy this has worked out, now we just have to get to the airport EXTRA EARLY!!!

If you have a room only reservation, you can switch at any time without penality, subject to availability.

Not exactly. Room only reservations that are changed/cancelled 5 days or less before travel are subject to a penalty of your one night's deposit. Outside of 5 days you can make changes without penalty.

Disney was great to work with on these last minute changes without charging their standard fees.

I repeat " you can make changes at ANY time prior to arrival without penality".

Actually, Sue Ellen is right. There is a charge if you cancel less than 5 days from your arrival.

Joe is right. You can modify within the last 5 days without being charged. We had someone quit where I work the day before I was suppose to go. I was unable to go. (I work for my father, enough said) I called and rescheduled my trip for the following week. Gave me time to refigure everyone's schedule to get the days off I needed. I was not charged. The CM said because I was not cancelling only changing dates. I asked (because I'm nosey) what if I call tomorrow to cancel all together, CM told me that I would be more than 5 days out so there would not be a charge.

Disney is allowing anyone with a reservation from now until Sunday to cancel without penalty. I just got off the phone with them. I hope this helps.

American's website now indicates anyone traveling to Florida (anywhere) from August 11 - 19 can change their reservation to travel as late as August 19, 2004.

I switched my reservation to late Saturday. I also added a day to make up for the lost day. I could not believe When I made these reservations months ago, I joked about it being on Friday the 13th!!! Everyone thought I was crazy! Well I hope the worst is over by Sat. night!

Spirit's deal is pretty good! If you are scheduled to fly between now & 8/18, they will allow you to reschedule thru 9/15!

:teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

For those of you who are switching your days with Disney did you get the travel insurance or are they just doing it as a courtesy? I was just curious. We aren't going for a few weeks yet but you never know what will happen.

American Airlines is allowing free flight change for all of Florida. Website updated yesterday.
