Switch a couple FP+ selections?

We made our FP+ selections and are generally happy with the schedule. Over the course of 8 park days, we have:

MK: M&G A+E (x2), Mickey, and Tinker Bell; FoFP; MSEP; Haunted Mansion; Jungle Cruise; 7DMT (x2); ETWB; Space Mountain.

We purposefully did not get Peter Pan, bc I'm more excited about the new queue than the actual ride! (We'll probably RD PP.)

Assuming we make it to the first A+E M&G, we'll switch the second for another attraction.

MSEP is on a day when we're only spending the evening in the park (morning is water park/resort pool).

How long are the waits for Mickey and TB compared to Splash and BTMRR? We'll be there in late May.

EPCOT: Soarin', Spaceship Earth, Character Spot

DHS: TSMM, ToT (x2), Star Tours (x2), Fantasmic!

Again, Fantasmic! is on a day we're only spending the evening in the park.

Not sure if we should change one of the Star Tours to the sing-along? (We have an Elsa-loving DD.)

AK: FOTLK, EE, Kilimanjaro Safaris

Would it be better to change FOTLK to Kali River Rapids?

Lots to choose from.

Opinions, anyone?

Robo: I used your priority thread to make my initial FP+ selections. However, I wasn't clear on whether priorities were based mostly on ease of obtaining the FP+ as one of your initial 3 selections, ease of obtaining the attraction as a 4th FP+, or based more on the amount of time FP+ saves versus standby.

I'm not sure if, on average, the lines for the M&Gs are shorter or longer than for the mountains. (I've seen both long and short lines for both, but we haven't been in May before.) Or if it's easier to get a 4th FP+ for either.

Also, does 'priority access' to the Sing-Along or FOTLK just mean you are let in a couple minutes before non-FP+ guests, or is there a chance that one could be standing through the shows by not using FP+? (Idk how credible they are, but I'd seen reports that some standby guests were having stand through the Sing-Along.) We could switch a Star Tours for a Sing-Along, but those are both rated B in your post with no indication of wait times, etc.

Have a great trip.

I just realized the FP+ thread was posted by MesaBoy2! Oops!

Part of the problem is I've looked on the aps for both UT and MDE and didn't see wait times for the M&Gs, so idk if they generally have long or short lines. We'll do the M&Gs and the mountains either way, but it would be helpful to know which is a better use of FP+ in terms of average wait time.

Like I said, idk exactly what the priorities are based on (ease of obtaining, or average time the FP+ saves). I just took a quick look at some ride wait times, and noticed what I would consider to be very long waits (an hour plus) for some B and C rated attractions.

Choosing FP+ can be difficult.

So not to disregard the work that MesaBoy2 has put into his thread (bc it is appreciated), but basing FP+ selections on just one person's experience and familiarity doesn't seem to be the most effective way to do things. I did take his suggestions into consideration, but it's not as if they're based on objective research into actual wait times, FP+ availability, etc. (Obviously that would take way more work than most people have time for, and would require a statistician to evaluate and optimally report the data.)

That's why I posted my initial question about possibly switching some FP+ selections - to hopefully illicit the opinions of many people who could take into account my preferences (which MesaBoy2 explicitly states he does not do). Presumably, that's why anyone asks about FP+ priorities; most people are referred to MesaBoy2's thread that doesn't account for individual circumstances, which isn't entirely helpful.

This is what the FAQ says:

"These rankings are based on my experience with all WDW attractions and familiarity with each one's popularity and capacity. These rankings are only meant to be an objective list of which FP+ selections have the potential to save the most guests the most time under most conditions. They do not reflect my own preferences with regard to "favorites", and do not attempt to reconcile all the different preferences any particular guest may have."

So, I read that as having nothing to do with how easy it is to actually *get* the FP+, but just how much time it might save you.

Note also that certain attractions are listed as *difficult to get* - but with different priority rankings as far as how much time it would actually save you. Since I haven't tried FP+ yet in the parks, and don't really plan to do many shows or meet & greets, I can't help you with actual results.

Part of the problem is I've looked on the apps for both UT and MDE and didn't see wait times for the M&Gs, so idk if they generally have long or short lines.

On MDE, wait times for characters are under Entertainment, rather than Characters. Also, they're under M for Meet. So for instance, for Anna and Elsa, you look for Meet Anna and Elsa at Princess Fairytale Hall (which BTW is showing a current wait time of 110 minutes).

Is that on the app or just the full site? I found 'entertainment' on the app, but it just pulled up M&G hours, no wait times.

The priority list is what it is. You are welcome to heed it or ignore it. I cannot possibly account for individual preferences in one or two posts, that's what the rest of the thread--and the rest of the forum--is for. It is also impossible to estimate wait times to the degree you seem to desire, so I generalize them all into just three categories--more would be unworkable in my opinion. After some 800,000 views or so, I'm comfortable that there's some usefulness in there somewhere.

App, things to do, entertainment, magic kingdom shows waits for me

That's not how the app looks on my phone. (There's no Things To Do.) Under Explore, choose Wait Times. Then at the bottom of the screen choose Magic Kingdom Park. Then at the top choose Entertainment.

FOTLK doesn't need a FastPass really. I don't think there is any special seating for FP people is there?? You just get in early and have to sit where they tell you, probably in lame-o giraffe. Baaaaa Baaaaa
