Great news, I put it on our list of places to eat in August(although my list changes on a daily basis)

Seriously, hope they get ontop of it and the media calm down a little, they love stories like this.

I knew it wouldn't be long before Thomas Cook, Thomson and First Choice would cancel their flights. My brother works for TC - I bet he's had a fair few angry phone calls to deal with today

I've just had a email from some German friends who were due to fly to Florida for a WDW holiday on Friday. Their charter flight has been canceld by their tour operator. Apparently their German holiday tour company has canceld all their flights to the US.

Just had an up date from Germany, my friends have been booked onto another flight for Florida by their holiday company. Their origonal flight was due to stop off in Mexico after Florida hense the reason it was canceld. So they are both very happy now and are looking forward to seeing the Mouse after all.

I am no longer listening to the news as I think most of it is hyped up to sell papers etc. I think that the media in this country have a lot to answer for.

only actually 7 confirmed dead by the swine flu all in mexico! the rest are not yet confirmed as swine flu

There is now a case being reported in Orlando, it's on the WFTV website. A mexican tourist has been hospitalised.

Personally, I still think it is nothing to worry about and anyone travelling in the next few weeks should just go and enjoy as normal.

That may change of course if it gets much worse, but don't forget even the regular flu kills a lot of people, just usually the elderly or the very young. I also think that the medical care in Mexico is much different than here and so (rightly or wrongly) people assume that it won't affect us as bad.

This is so true, flu kills thousands of people every winter, but it doesn't mean that everyone should move to a warm country! Those that are healthy should easily fight off flu, as the latter says, it is unfortunately the immuno-supressed that are usually the only ones killed by flu.

My friends parents turned up at MAN airport at 5 this morning only to be told that there flights had been cancelled!

Unfortunately the sad fact is that many parts of Mexico are considered 3rd world and therefore even with the normal flu many people would die anyway. The confirmed cases in other parts of the world - people are recovering fine.

If i listened to everything on the news i would be confined to my house!

As it stands this time next week i will be in Cozumel. And if i feel worried? I'll just have an even larger margerita!

As with most things if we tried to stop it by not travelling,it wil only take longer to get to us and it would sooner or later.
Press like to sell papers with this type of talk and governments like to use it to hide other bad news ie the economy
