Hey all!

Well we are heading to WDW on Monday morning, Just wondering if the temps are warm enough for swimming in January? We are staying at an off site hotel, who's pool is NOT heated!

Any suggestions for free (or cheap) swimming from 14th - 21 Jan?

Pools, beach's, springs etc...

It depends. I know we usually to WDW this week too. We usually go swimming but they are heated pools. We have never done the water parks because it was suggested to us not too because you never know what the weather will be like. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful trip.

I haven't looked at the forecast but my imediate reaction is - why don't they heat their pools in Jan? Even in March, you need pool heat in the evenings!!

So I would say you will NOT be able to swim in the pool. The Disney waterparks are heated so you can go there - you will most likely have at least some warm weather during the day.

We have stayed offsite in the past and spent a few hours at resorts on their beaches but you won't get in their pools and I don't believe they allow swimming in the lakes.

I went last year at this time, and the water parks were not open.

we stayed at CSR and attempted swimming twice, and it was FREEZING even with heated pools!

If you can swim in a lake or Ocean up here in the summer the heated pools are fine at WDW.
With that said if you hit a cold snap, 15C or under, it could be a little fresh getting out of the pools

High today, Sunday, was 26C in O-town.

Ok, well I guess I will just play it by ear and see how the weather is once I get there...

Thanks for the advise all! ;)

Personally, I'd switch to a resort with a heated pool. Swimming is one of those special "Winter in Florida" experiences that those of us from Northern climes really appreciate.

And what is with this group? Heck, if the pond ain't froze, I say it's swimmin' weather! And I'm from further south than most of you, coming from Maine (where we swim in the ocean just fine, thank you very much). And at Disney, any weather 10 C or above is shorts and sandals weather for me; I might wear a sweatshirt, but below it's shorts and sandals.
