Hi Everyone,

I know on the Disney Cruise that toddlers that are not potty trained and that wear swim diapers cannot swim in the regular pools, and are limited to the toddler pools. Is this the same for the all of the resorts at WDW? We are going the last week of Sept, and our DD will be 2 1/2. She loves the water, and loves being in the "big kid" pool with Mommy and Daddy. If she can't go in, and can only go in the toddler pools, I might have to cheer on going in the potty a little more to get outta those diapers!!! :cheer2:

Thanks for the help! :earboy2:

Nope, she'll be able to go in the "big kid" pools with mommy and daddy! Unless of course, you want that incentive for potty training ;)

I'm sure there's a reason behind the rules on the cruise, but as long as they have swim diapers they can swim anywhere at the resorts.

Good to know, thank you so much, my daughter will be so happy! I am going to try to get her potty trained before we go, as obviously it would be so much easier, but I have no expectations. (she's just now figuring out what the potty really is, no successful attempts yet!) :love1:

Do they allow floating devices for toddlers in the pool? Do you have to bring your own, or are there any there that they can use? If not, no big deal, I think she'll just be content "swimming" with mommy and daddy! :love1:

Thanks again!

I think the reason for the rules on the cruise ship is because of the way the pool water is treated. The pools at the resorts are treated with Chlorine and regular pool chemicals so babies are allowed in the adult pools but there are "kiddie pools" as well for those that have little ones that are more comfortable with that. As far as flotation devices, I think you can get life-jackets for the kids but am not sure how small they come and I haven't seen any other "fun" type of floatation devices at the Boardwalk, where we usually stay. It may vary by resort though, I don't know. We just put ds in his suit that has the floatation device sewn right in and he swims this us. :-) That seems to work really well for him.

Yes, you can use flotation devices, at least at both Boardwalk and Port Orleans we were able to. We asked the lifeguard first each time just to be sure that we hadn't hit upon a lieniant ifeguard the previous time, but each time was consistent. I think the rule was that it was OK as long as he wasn't strapped in to whatever floating device we had. We brought along our Swim Ways infant swim ring, although our 2nd trip was after DS started taking "swimming lessons" and he wasn't so hot on his swim ring anymore. I know I've also seen kids with noodles at SAB at the Yacht and Beach Clubs...so I'd say if you have room for any of her favorite blow-up thins go ahead and bring them. As far as rentals or checking the stuff out I'm not sure, but I'll be interested to read responses for future reference!

I'd agree the rules with the cruise pools is probably different because of water treatment and health and safety concerns. White Water outside Atlanta had a big E Coli outbreak several years back and had to change their policy and be more adherent to the swim diaper rules in the toddler pool and checking the water quality levels.
