swim diaper question

At what point do you stop using swim diapers/disposeable swim diapers?

DD is pretty well potty trained (not at night though) and always tells us when she needs to go. we are heading to Dinsye in May/June and I mentally planning my packing list, but then wondered if she needed them. I likely will take them, as you never know about little kids/pools/germs/things they do in the water, but I wondered if potty training and swim diapers had any relation?

I would forgot the swim diapers if she is pretty much PT'd.

Even my 6yo will still have an accident here & there (doesn't want to stop what he is doing sometimes!).

Swim diapers aren't going to protect her from the germs in the pool or anyone else.

If she pee's it's just going to go out in the water, not soak in the swim diaper since it will be wet from pool water. If she poops it will be in the diaper & the germs will already be spreading once that first inkling of it comes out.

Use the swim diaper if she still has BM accidents. Urine is not contained in the diaper.

If she has a BM accident in the pool, it is a huge deal to shock the water and contain the spill. They have to clear the pool to do this.

personally I think I'd still use them. You don't want to risk her pooping in the pool and it's very easy for kids to be having too much fun and not want to get out.

hrm not to cause a fuss but I never get why parents who have baby's in swim diapers thinks its ok to take them into the main pools or hot tubs. The reason for kiddie pools is they get filtered more since they have less water. I feel like its unhygienic. Its not like when you have a home pool and you know something happened and you shock the water. How many parents do you think actually walk up to someone and say hey my kid had an accident in his diaper you may need to treat the pool water? Just my opinion not trying to start anything.
