More bad news, first the horrible stateroom attendent, then they cancel the snorkeling, now more. I'm so sorry I know from the first page you still had a great time, I hope these things haven't put you off from another cruise

Yes, we still had a great time and I just tried to make the best out of these little situations. We definately will cruise again, but probably not until after she graduates in 2 years.

Here's the big reveal of the next DCL note:

OK, great. So my 2nd excursion gets cancelled!! I know, it is not their fault, but this is getting irritating! This is the only excursion DD wanted to do, nothing expensive, nothing fancy, just a little boat ride out into the ocean for some snorkeling.


So I make my way back down to guest services. There was no more excursions available except for a couple things we didn't care about doing. Yeah, we could have rented snorkel equipment and went out snorkeling on our own, but that just wasn't the same as what we had visioned ourselves doing. I think by the time you have the 2nd!!!! excursion cancelled, they could have at least offered a little discount on something, maybe the snorkel equipment or something, but the only thing the CM really said to me was "Well, you're just not having any luck with these excursions, are you?"


Heading back to the room, I dread telling DD that this excursion gets cancelled. So I get back to the room and try to figure out what I'm going to do. Along with a little organizing.....



I am a neat freak anyway, so I always have to go to the room and straighten everything up a couple times!!




Would this be the last of my bad luck on this trip?????????

For the last few nights of the cruise, I had noticed a "DVC Presentation" activity on the navigator and had been debating on whether to go to one or not. There wasn't really much I had planned at this time, except waiting till time to get ready for the show & dinner.

So I decide to go check the DVC Presentation out, and it didn't hurt that they were having a drawing for $300 room credit!!

There was only maybe 12-18 people in there at this time. Now they also have a DVC MEMBERS ONLY meetings. And since I am not a DVC member I thought I'd pass away a little time & go to this one.

The presentation was very interesting! They tell you how the DVC operates, talks about the different WDW resorts, including HHI and the new Hawaii resort.

They had trivia questions for little prizes, then they had the big drawing, which I did not win either one.........

So anyway, this lasts for just a little over an hour, and at the end, they give everyone a "gift" for coming, which was TOTALLY worth an hour of my time!!!! They gave everyone a DVC recycle-type bag, and a black & white print of Walt Disney and his wife.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND anyone go to this. It is very interesting to learn how it all works.

I am very sorry for your excursion issues. I'm hoping it gets better. First the poor stateroom attendant, then the Nassau cancel, now this. At least her birthday went perfectly! You did a good job, Mom.

So, was Brandon Duke (my friendly DVC sales-man) there? I saw him last time I was on the Magic. We did all of our transaction on the phone to become members so it was nice to put a face to the name.

We've used our points for cruise but so far NO trips off-property. We can't seem to leave the world. With an 18 year old daughter and a 9 year old daughter, we've decided it will be a nice wedding present for them as a wedding or honeymoon vacation (DD18 says her future husband MUST be a Disney addict like us).

Looking forward to the rest of the TR. I think you may not be done before I leave on Tuesday for our trip.

I will endeavor to do a TR 1/2 as good as you.
