Sweet Sixteen on the Dream! The Good, the Bad, and the Crazy!

Here's a non-picture update:

I think we're gonna head back to ATL this week!! My DD likes to go to a couple of the Malls there and a few outlet centers. Hope we can get some good deals on back to school clothes & stuff!!!!

Since we went to the aquarium this last time we went, we're gonna go to the World Of Coke this time, and probably spend a couple days there, rather than going for just the day.

Also, I had been thinking of doing this for a while, but never got the motivation or nerves to do it, but I finally........................

signed up to go back to take some classes at tech!!!!

Without getting into too much details, I got laid off from a long time job recently and haven't had any luck finding a similar job. So I decided to go into a different field that I have been interested in for a while:
Pharmacy Tech.

I didn't want to mention it too soon and then it not fall through, but it looks like I will be going back to school!!! :woohoo:

:teacher:

I think you guys will like World of Coke, we had fun there :thumbsup2

Bummer that you lost your job, but congratulations on your decision to go back to school!! Sometimes it takes something like losing a job to push into doing something we've been wanting to do anyway. In the long run, this loss may turn out to be a very big gain :goodvibes

Hey, Kristi! Sorry it took me so long to make my way back over here!! Sorry you're having problems with PhotoBucket!!

Your talk of losing weight has inspired me. I wish there was somewhere around here that offered classes like that! I've heard that Zumba is fun, but I'm not very coordinated, so I'm not so sure how I'd fare with that!

Congrats on deciding to go back to school! That's a huge step, and you should be very proud of yourself!! Do you know when you'll be starting?

How long are y'all going to be here? You think we could try and meet up this time?

How awesome you are returning to school! A few days in Atlanta sounds like a great time...have fun!

I hope we'll like it. We've been wanting to go for a while now. So I figured we'd fit it into this "back to school shopping" trip!

I think it starts August 15. DD starts back on the 16th.
I think we're just staying one night there, and hope we can meet up! I also sent you a message through FB.:)

Since my photos are back up, let's continue...... :woohoo:

After we finished taking a few pictures out on deck, it was time to make our way to The Golden Mickeys show.

We really enjoyed the Golden Mickeys. They have lots of new stuff added to the show that's similar to the one on the Wonder.

After the show, we still had some extra time till Dinner. So we walked around taking more pictures. We came across Donald & Daisy all dressed up!!

We went back out on deck since it wasn't dark out yet.

One thing that I really didn't like, is how on some of the deck space had this tall "glass enclosure". I don't recall it being this way when we went on the Wonder.

So we were really excited that the "dress up" night fell on the same night as DD's 16th birthday! Tonight's dinner would be at Royal Palace!

DD wanted this fruity non-alcoholic drink. It was really good, but I can't remember the name of it! :headache:

They surprised DD with 2 birthday desserts!!!!

DisneyDream2011716.jpg

DisneyDream2011717.jpg

And the birthday desserts weren't the only excitement!......

Earlier that day I had went into the gift shop looking for a little something extra for her birthday. They really didn't have anything birthday related except for a Happy Birthday pin. I bought the pin, and a cute Minnie plush. I was talking to a CM about trying to get it to her as a surprise. So I decided to have it delivered to her by our waiter at dinner. I didn't know you could even do this, but I took it to guest services and they took care of it!!!

So as they brought out her desserts, they sang Happy Birthday & gave her the gift. She was so surprised! She definately didn't expect that! Wish I could have gotten a picture of her reaction, but I had jumped up as they were walking over, so I could get it on my camcorder.

After dinner, we wanted to get formal pics with Mickey & Minnie, but we didn't get out of dinner in time for Mickey, but we did get pics with Minnie!!

So after dinner, we head back to the room so we could change clothes and split up again, as she would always go to Vibe, and I would go to Evolution.

Here's our room door where I added some 16th birthday decorations for today's big day!

And our cute towel animal for tonight:

I was sad to see this day end! Cause that means only one more full day on board!!!!! :sad1:

I am also getting sad that my TR is almost at the end of our trip. But I also have a few more non-DCL updates..........

1. "Magic Kingdom Photopass" I got our WDW photopass pics in the mail a couple weeks ago and I'll post a few of those. I was really glad to get in with a "photopass share" group. Since we only went to one park, it really saved me a lot of money, vs. having to buy a whole CD of only one theme park!

2. "Atlanta: Round 2" - Another fun filled trip to Atlanta where we would do some back to school shopping, visit World of Coke, make an unplanned visit to Chateau Elan, and meeting up with a Diser-friend!!!!!!

You got such good pictures of Golden Mickeys! And love how you were able to spend DD's 16th at RP on dress-up night...nice!

That high plexiglass on the top deck is strangely odd! I do not remember it on the Magic or Wonder either. Hmmmmmmmm...

What a fun birthday surprise!!

I must say, I'm really jealous of all your pictures with the characters since my boys flat out refused to take any. I should've just gotten in line and taken some by myself

I don't remember it being on the Wonder, either. Even if for safety reasons, it seems like they wouldn't have to have the plexiglass that high, over your head, where you couldn't really look out over the rails, especially if you're short like I am!!

I should've just gotten in line and taken some by myself

Yeah, you should have. That's what I did! I had great times doing things like that on my own!

I had that same drink your DD had. It's called a "Princess Delight" and it was! I loved it.
So glad the pictures are back. I love all your photos.
I do hope you can find a job soon and good luck with your schooling and new career choice.

Oh, yeah, that's right, the Princess Delight!!! :thumbsup2

Beautiful pictures!! Both of you looked awesome all dressed up! I love the pic with Minnie in her formal wear--just hate that you missed Mickey!

What a sweet surprise for Marisa! I love the little Minnie! And I had no idea that they would deliver things at dinner-but what an awesome idea!

Enjoying your trip report! We were on the same cruise too. I think I recall seeing you and your dd :goodvibes

My son was stuck on the aqua duck...poor little guy, he handled it much better than we did. The reason was he was too light. They measure the kiddos to make sure they meet a certain height, which he did to ride solo. But he wasnt heavy enough and became stuck at the dip area. They had to shut down the ride and brought him down. He was a little frightened. He only went on with one of us from then on to make sure the raft was heavy enough. I think the ride was shut for 20mins. We saw this happen to another child, a little girl on Nassau day.

I didn't get stuck but my raft flipped around right at the beginning - I thought I was tipping over for sure - but instead it flipped all the way around and I had to ride the whole way BACKWARDS!!! :scared1:

I love your trip report. I also love hearing what Marissa thought of her cruise. My Goddaughter is her age and will have turned 18 when we go on her "Eighteenth Birthday and Graduation Cruise" We are cruising on the Fantasy Dec 2012 and she and her best friend also celebrating her 18th birthday and Graduation will miss a couple of days of school but will both behome bythe 23rd of December. Ask Marissa a question for me. Does she think theywill like it. They really want to not go to Vibe so they can celebrate their birthdays at Palo and go with me to Remy(in fact they are saving their babysitting monies to take me to Remy) Would she do that ?

Thank you! Yeah, I wished we would have gotten dress up pics with Mickey, but I couldn't leave dinner early to get to the photo op (like we had before), because of the planned surprise! Wish they didn't take so long with dinner! :headache:

I didn't know they would do that either, but I'm glad I talked to a CM to get that idea!

OMG I don't know which would be worse!!!

Here's some WDW photopass pics that I hope you all enjoy while I work on loading more pics into photobucket.

I only have a few because we didn't take very many pics that day. But it was the only park we had planned to visit before the cruise, so I joined a photopass share group on FB, instead of having to buy a whole photopass CD for only one theme park of photos.
