Sweet Sixteen on the Dream! The Good, the Bad, and the Crazy!

Great Trip report. We sail in September. My kids are going to flip when they find out we are on the Dream.... keeping it a secret until the night before.

I can't believe they have a 6 foot Remy! We can't wait to meet Jack either.

It looks like you had so much fun.

I am amazed at how empty the ship look in some of your pictures. Did the ship seem crowded to you?

The only time it seemed crowded was at the deck parties and in the atrium when they had the characters. I loved walking around & getting pics especially when it was after midnight. That's when you can really get great pics with no people in the background!!

Pirate Night Dinner was at Enchanted Garden.


Menu:

This was everyone at our table. I mentioned it before, but I loved how they had us sitting with other teens, and a grandma with her teen grand-daughter on a Grandma/Granddaughter-only trip! She was really fun. We all actually thought she was the Mom, cause she looked so young and was so funny! We enjoyed everyone!

Food!! Can't remember the name of everything, but this was the Grilled Pineapple and it was VERY good!!!!

Loved this dessert!!

After dinner, we took a few pics before the fireworks:

So I headed back to the room while DD went to Vibe

I decided to go back to Evolution again tonight and hang out, but first, I thought I'd go ahead & get DD birthday gift set out for when she returns to the room, since TOMORROW is the big day...........

Sweet 16...Actually birthday-Day!!!!!



While we were at WDW, before the cruise, I got her this Minnie plush that has "It's My Birthday" on it. I also had this champagne glass engraved from Carrabas Bros. (spelling???) One side has a pic of the castle, on the other side, it is engraved "Happy 16th Birthday, Marissa". Also, I had a "loot bag" similar to what I gave as FE gifts, filled with candy, stickers, & stuff!

Next day is "Day At Sea" and on our next night's dinner, would also be "dress-up" night, so we were excited for her birthday "day" to be the same day as dress up night!! (especially for pics!!)

I'm pretty sure our sailing was at capacity. But it just didn't seemed "overly" crowded. Really, I didn't notice any difference in the crowds on the Dream compared to when we went on the Wonder in 2009. I guess with the ship being so big, there's more room to "disperse" everyone. I took a lot of pics late at night. I highly recommend doing this. It gives you a chance to get lots of good pics without a ton of people in the background.

The main crowds I felt was at character photo ops, deck parties, and at the pools.

Here's the onboard photos I bought from Shutters (in no certain order). I really didn't get many because:

1. They're just too pricey for me.

2. Most of the same photos the photographers took, they also took the same poses with MY camera. So I have plenty of those pics on my camera, just without the borders.

Not sure why they seem a little blurry on here, must be my scanner??

Another thing I wanted to point out is, that I was kinda disappointed that they didn't rope off the top & bottom of the stairs so everyone wouldn't be getting in the background of the pictures. As you can see on a few of mine, there's people just walking up & down the steps as the photographer is taking the pics. When we were on the Wonder in 2009, they had the steps roped off, and if they seen that someone "accidently" made it through the ropes, they would clear them out, before taking a pic. I know, it's something minor, but really wished I didn't have people in the background on the 2 pics by Admiral Donald.

Are the shutters photogs roaming the beach at Castaway Cay?

Was it hard to find Jack Sparrow? Did you get much time with him, or was there a huge line?

Oh, I sure wish September would get here.

Yeah, it really irritated me when I seen them and there's really no way to try to "crop" them out of the picture.

We only seen a couple photographers IN the water, but I know there were more out & about the island, because we seen lots of CC pics at Shutters of other families. (Even though they have the books of photos at Shutters, they still have some "loose" pictures that they display on the wall, maybe sometimes they can't match up with the book they belong to.??)


Was it hard to find Jack Sparrow? Did you get much time with him, or was there a huge line?

Compared to when we went on the Wonder, he was a little hard to find. On the Wonder, he was right there as you walked from the ship towards the beaches, but on the Dream, he was listed to be at "Pelican Point", which could have meant a wide range of area. So we wondered around a few minutes before we spotted him. There was only a couple people ahead of us. Hardly any lines for any of the characters on the island.


Oh, I sure wish September would get here.

Today would be Sea Day and Sweet 16 Day. We didn't really plan everything for this day, we just decided to catch up on some sleep, and go with the flow. We start our day by walking around the ship taking pics.

"Yes, I need to take 100 pics of you on your birthday!!"

As we were leaving from the front of the ship, we seen Lilo, with NO people waiting in line!!! She must have been bored because she was playing a balance game!

We head to Cabanas for lunch, and as we get there, we run into this CM that sang Happy Birthday to DD and gave her a hug. It was so cute! He was sweet.

What was really neat, is that my DD noticed his name tag had that he was from Peru, and we went there last year on a mission trip!!!! (I have some pics of our trip included at the end of my 2010 TR if anyone's interested) So they chatted for a couple minutes and we were off to find us a table near the window, as usual!!!!

After lunch, DD wanted to go to Vibe, so we split up again and would meet back up later to get ready for the show & dinner.

I headed back to the room to check out the navigator and find something to do.

As I got to the room, I noticed another note from DCL! What would it be??????????
