Some 16 year olds worry about the social side of having a big party. Who to invite. Do they have enough close friends to invite. Will the kids think what they're doing is lame. So sometimes it's just easier to do something small.

Escape room is a great idea!

We did a 16th Birthday Party for our daughter, but, part of the party was an Escape Room. DD is a little shy, so the Escape Room gave everyone something to do. Plus, the Escape Room (solving mysteries) just fits her personality very well!

We all had a great time!

Everyone met at the Escape Experience - because of our number, we had to do two different rooms, but that was fine. After we "escaped," we all came back to our house for appetizer-type food & cake & ice cream. I had a photo booth set up in our dining room.

You feel like she wouldn't like any extra special attention, and yet you want to pull something anyway?? I'd just listen to her and do what she has already told you she'd like.

I never felt like turning 16 was anything extra special, for myself, or for my daughter - haven't really noticed others doing anything extra either, but nothing wrong with it 'if' the b'day girl is on board with is also!!

pull something? lol No I am not planning a surprise party which would most likely just make her stressed up, was looking for ideas for US to do with just her.

yeah I think it comes down to this, social events really kind of freak her out. We saw our local mall just put in an escape room and she thought that would be fun so I think we're going to check it out.

my 12 year old informed me he would LOVE a huge party for his 16th, so there is hope lol
