Sweet 16

DD is turning 16 in a few months. She hasn't decided if she wants to have theme party or not. I'm open to ideas, so long as they're not over-the-top like MTV's My Super Sweet 16.

I have thought of Pirates and Princesses (boys to wear pirate hats or bandanas or eye patches, girls wear tiaras, crowns or princess hats)

She thought of Princesses and Knights and looking through the Oriental Trading catalog mentioned a luau theme.

Any other ideas?

My sis had a luau for her 16th. It went well. Her birthday was in August though. But you could easily do it indoors if you're in a cold climate.
