Sweet 16 Surprise in Disney - need ideas

We are taking our DD to Disney for her Sweet 16 - that has been her wish forever (and I am so glad her wish is NOT for a car). She has been many many times and I want to have a few surprises for her while we are there. We are staying at the Dolphin and it will be over Easter weekend. I know my fellow DIS Boarders can help me come up with something to knock her socks off. Please???

I did a mom and daughter weekend in WDW for my DD's 16th. She got to choose restaurants the family didn't normally eat at. The rides were all her choice.

We stayed at the YC club level and they spoiled her completely! The room was decorated, night time nibbles were waiting for us and she had a large white chocolate Mickey statue on a plate surrounded by chocolate covered strawberries. We were both shocked when we arrived!

Maybe if there is a tour she wants to try you could sign her up for it. Also, check out the fireworks cruises. I have never tried them but many people here can tell you about them.

Mostly, just the time to hang together and have fun makes the trip perfect!

I had agreed with them on a place where we would start the hunt, without the rest of my family knowing anything about it.
When we came to that place there was a sign on a bench with our names on Nobody noticed, lol, until I had them line up in front of the bench for a photo. You can imagine their surprise when they finally saw the sign. The sign had a letter attached to the back wishing my DH a happy birthday and telling us that Tinkerbell had a gift waiting for him if only he could find it
The letter gave us a lead as to where we would find the next lead and so forth (typical scavenger hunt). It sent us to so many fun places in the MK, spots we had never even noticed before. It took about 2 hours and at the end we managed to find the gift Tinkerbell had hidden for us.
I can´t even begin to describe how incredibly fun this was and the clues, activities and gift at the end were perfect fits for our family, chosen by Gifts of a Lifetime. It showed that they had really read and contemplated what I had written to them about our favorite characters, children´s interests etc.
I´m sure your daughter would LOVE this!

Thank you! I just filled out their very detailed questionare and cant wait to see what they can come up with. This sounds super and is something I have not heard of and am sure my daughter has not heard of either and that is my goal! Thanks so much! Now lets hope she is not surfing the Community Board and stays on the Teen Board where she belongs.

That scavenger hunt sounds like so much fun! I would LOVE that and I'm 23

I would also love what a previous poster said about being signed up for a tour that she has mentioned, that would be a great surprise! Also choosing her own restaurants and maybe getting her a nice piece of jewelry or bag while you're there? Or some perfume in Epcot?

My dd is also having her Sweet 16 in WDW..she is bring 3 friends along. I have been racking my brain also as to what I could surprise her with and this sounds like so much fun!


I was thinking of an Illuminations cruise with a birthday cake too. Has anyone done that?

Disneyflorist.com has a bunch of great gifts. I 'm pretty sure they deliver to Swan and Dolphin, but not sure about in room like the resorts. We had people send us things for out honeymoon and it was so sweet.

I saw this on the blog a few weeks ago and was dying to figure out how to get it for me the next time I'm there.

Boy I wish my mom would have done this for me! Well, we still got to go in the summer anyways I'm only 17 o I can say that I would absolutely love a me-sized princess dress to wear. I would love to get awesome seats for every parade, go to fantasmic, and go to all character dining. Just being in disney is enough of a treat for me, but having the option for unlimited snacks of my choice at the parks would be amazing.
