Swapping out a HH studio at OKW for one not near the HH

Got three nights booked at OKW in June near the HH and I am looking to add a one night package before that stay at POR with my TA. I would have to check into POR on June 1st. But my stay at OKW is June 3-6. Ughhh.

As of right now, no HH studio is available for June 2-5. Leading me to believe I may have to give up my HH studio and just go into the general population for a studio. LoL. The deal with the one night at POR and the tickets are awesome and I think it will be worth it if I have to switch it up. Anyone regret not staying near the HH at OKW if they had the chance?

I never book the HH category bc we usually book one bedrooms at OKW and none of the ones in the HH area have dual bathroom entrances.

There are some really nice non-HH areas at OKW. In fact I think the HH area has some of the worst views. And you can always hop a park bus to get a ride to the HH. Then when you want to go back to your room, get on the first bus that comes to the peninsular road stop. Or walk if you’re close enough. You can always request turtle pond if you want to be near a snack stand.

View isn't that big a factor to me. But ground floor and close to laundry would be.

Hmm...maybe just request ground floor close to laundry? I think the Turtle Pond pool has laundry too. And a snack stand! So you might feel like you are near the HH. Or request the elevator buildings that are near the HH but not in that booking category. (62, 63, 64) I have never had a bad room at OKW - there are good things about all of the areas :-)

Good luck!! You could always WL that one night for the HH area if it's important to you.

If I travel solo in the winter, I usually try to book near HH. WHen traveling with friends or in nice weather, I like the Turtle Pond area, near the bus stop.

Well I am not going to give it up too soon. I am going to wait it out, stalk, and be open to different dates as well. I just need to add one night onto the reservation to begin with and the deal with that travel agency I am getting is one night at POR with 2 day tickets and a one day waterpark for $835, for three people. With Disney those tickets alone are over $900. I was thinking about just renting out around 12 more points for an additional night at OKW, but that deal at POR with the tickets is a given.

We also prefer not to stay in the near HH area category. We prefer Millers Road most of the time. You'll find a laundry room at South Point Pool, Turtle Pond Pool and Millers Road Pool as well as the main pool.

Can’t you add a day through the TA?

What will you do for tickets for the rest of the stay? Can those tickets be upgraded?

It is a short stay, one night at POR and three at OKW. Two days at the theme parks, one day at the water park.

I assume you have a typo and your one night at POR is 2-3 June instead of 1 June else I'm reading it incorrectly, otherwise if it's one night only you have a day without a room. Do you have enough points to hold the 4 nights non HH view AND continue to try to get the single night in HH view?

Yep, typo. One night at POR, 3 nights at OKW. I will have to give up my HH location if I want to check in on June 1 at POR, which I will have to do. That is the plan right now. But my plans can change more times than I can count. LoL.

No, it never bothered me when our stays have not been near HH. :)

And there actually are buildings that are not in the HH category but are just as close, maybe closer, than some that are. If nothing else you could request those although I'd go with the more general ground floor near laundry if that's the main wish.

Which ones are not HH category but are just as close?

Bldg 62 is just across the road from HH. It's one of the 3 buildings with the elevator and often is used for medical requests. That what we had when we were given a room there. Bldg 63 is also one with an elevator and is just across the road from Bldg 14 which is in the HH category. Bldgs 16 and even 64 also are about the same distance away as the furthest building in the HH category.

Thanks so much. You are always so helpful. Greatly appreciated!!!

27, 28 and 29 are located near the Peninsular Road bus stop, right across the bridge from the HH, so they might also work for you.

The two teens in the party want to be closer to Disney Springs. May end up over there, they don't want to stay at the retirement home. :teeth::teeth:
