Swapping cabins for 2 people in our party

We are on the June 27 Disney Dream out of Civtavecchio. We have booked 8 people into 3 cabins. We now want to swap 2 of those people and wondering how to do this…..

just move the people on our own and swap their key cards

OR

contact Disney before we leave and have them formerly move them

OR

wait till we get on board and go to guest services and get new key cards

If you do this, the name on the card and picture in their system won't match to who is actually using the card. If they get off the ship in a port, they would need to make sure they swap cards so that they have the correct ones with their name.

It would probably be easier to have it done before you sail.

As long as the people switching are not the head name on the reservation switching cabin’s won’t be a problem.
There is also the saying “Mickey doesn’t care where you sleep”
You can go to Guest Services and get an extra key card to the cabins that are switching.

Weedy is right, get additional key cards when on board for those who need one for the other room.

I'd go with option 3. Those two will need to use two keycards : one for getting on and leaving the ship and one to open the cabin door, but there is no risk of DCL messing things up.
