***Swap has ended***Strolling around the World Dbl Stroller Swap

Such kind words, madmumof2! Thank you! And I hope you had a great day despite the rocky start.

We were the grateful recipients of this stroller and I left it for only a few hours in the luggage room at Beach Club for tc. She should have picked it up with no problems. I will call to check.

So here are my hints on the stroller. We have Maclarens, so this was not hard for us to figure out. But when you fold it, there is some fabric from the hood probably, that catches sometimes on the right side (when you're behind it folding it) - just remove the fabric out of the way and you're good. On the left side, the latch where it hooks when folded likes to get tucked inside the fold. Manually make sure it gets where it should be (not tucked inside the metal bars of the stroller, but hooked onto the round knob so that it latches- very necessary for those darn parking lot trams!) Also, if you're in front of the stroller looking at the children, the child on the right's buckle is a bit wonky. The latch is tricky. You have to move the top piece of the left side so that it fits and latches properly. Really hard to describe in a post. It doesn't latch unless you press on the top part so it fits into the bigger middle piece. Press the front and the back of the middle piece of the latches to release (both sides).

Thanks again for the use of this stroller. It was a great thing for me when I had two kids in the park by myself!

Thanks for the tips! Do you know how/if the seat fabric comes off to be washed? Previously I had said I'd do it but I'm looking at my stroller at home and that doesn't come off so I think I'll just bring extra wipes . . .

If you look at the picture in Post #1 and then the actual picture of our stroller, there are extra pads on it.
The red and black stripe pads come off.
You don't have to take the stroller apart.
I was just hoping you could wash the seat pads.
You can use the stroller without them.

In the mean time be extra careful watching your little ones do not get their fingers anywhere near the hinge!

I will try again tomorrow.
I have two strollers myself.
I am not the original purchaser of this stroller. I took over the swap when the original person just gave up on it.
I was one of the original swapper who paid for the stroller.
I'm sure our stroller will not have a serial number on it. I'm pretty sure it was bought from an unauthorized dealer and they take off the numbers.
With a recall this large and being such a small fix (just a plastic cover for the hinge) It might not be so official.
Someone on the other post said they would send one without the number.
I will keep everyone posted.

I also asked Eyor44 to try to get one before she leaves.
The website says it should arrive in 5-7 days.

We're back!! Clearly I hadn't looked at the picture too well, we were able to easily remove the pads and throw in the washing machine (and managed a good scrubbing underneath too - it really needed it)!

It was a bit hard to push around with the 2 kids in it but we (um, dh) managed just fine most of the time - just watch out for AK. Also, the lock by one of the seats was hard to get, I checked and it wasn't getting caught in anything but I had a hard time with it. Other than that, stroller was great.

I was on the monorail headed to Epcot when I first heard about the recall from another Maclaren user, I hadn't read the article but she checked and said she didn't see that our model had the hinge so maybe it's not an issue for us.

The stroller is awaiting its next owner. Have a great trip everyone!

Wanted to add - make sure you say it's a large black bag, not that it's a stroller. Open strollers are kept in a separate area so you won't find it there. I know it's been mentioned on here before, just wanted to reiterate because dh said it was a stroller and the guy couldn't find it, when I told him "no, a large black bag" he found it right away.
