Swan vs CSR GDT

Update:
Yesterday was the big reveal and she was very excited. We talked about where we're staying and I told her that we had reservations for CSR Gran Destino Tower and she was THRILLED! I asked her about us switching resorts and she was not interested. I showed her room tours for both resorts again and she was most excited about CSR. Go figure. I asked her about being close to two parks versus all bus transportation and, again, she didn't care.

At the end of the day, we go a lot and we tend to stay at the same resorts so staying at either of these would be new-to-us and would fulfill a desire to visit more resorts. We have a couple of additional trips coming up this year that should also help satisfy the goal of staying at more resorts, as well.

So it looks like, even though you all gave me wonderful advice and many pros that should tip it in the favor, we're going to stay with CSR.

BOOOO! Just kidding. Have a great time. I'm sure GDT will be a wonderful resort to stay at. If you're able, try to time your Skyliner ride back from Epcot for when the fireworks are going off. We did that just to get in a trip on the Skyliner and it was pretty fun.

I think you made the right decision. We stayed at GDT this summer and it is a beautiful resort. I mean amazingly beautiful. We had a split stay and I honestly like it a lot better than the Riviera resort. To me, the only negative thing about it is the fact that it is branded a moderate resort so you lose the extra time in the parks for deluxe resorts. We always rent a car so transportation isn’t a big deal to us, plus it is close to Animal Kingdom.

When you find a resort you love it can be hard not to stay there. A new resort can make WDW feel fresh and new all over again. Have fun! The GDT looks amazing and we hope to stay there sometime in 2022.

GREAT decision! We have had a VERY hard time, these last few years, trying to justify a deluxe, we just do not find that they are worth that much more than a Mod. Of course the Swan is a much better price than the other Epcot resorts.

I just realized I confused the GDT with the Riviera resort. So never mind my suggestion about riding the Skyliner back around fireworks time unless you just want to ride the Skyliner roundtrip. That's what we did since it never made sense to take it back to the Swan.
