Just wondering if I can take advantage of the teacher rate at Swan/Dolphin if I'm a teacher's aide...and I'm also wondering how they verify that you are indeed a teacher when you check in.

One other question: can you upgrade to concierge from the $99 rate...and if so, how much extra is it?

Thanks!

For the nurses rate, I'm supposed to bring a copy of my licence, &/or work i.d. badge. If you work for a public school, are you then considered a government employee? Maybe take that route?

The $99.00 rate is long gone! It was a missprint that was honored through December 2001. The correct rate for Teachers/nurses/government employees is $129.00 the last time I checked (about a month ago).

If you have any proof of being a teacher, nurse or government employee, such as a county pay stub or faculty I.D., bring it just in case proof is requested. You could also bring a copy of your latest review or letter from your personell office or principal.

Most people say it isn't requested, but if Starwood begins to suspect non-teachers/non-nurses/non-government employees are abusing the system, they may start to do so on a regular basis. If they do and you don't have proof, they can charge you rack rate...ouch! I took my state employment I.D. just in case. It is easy to pack, easy to find and peace of mind on the way to the hotel.

Good luck and enjoy the S/D. It is a great hotel.
