Any Swan experts out there? Staying 5 nights(using SPG points) 6/6-6/11. We usually have stayed at GF, but free rooms are a great price. A few questions though?

Are all the Swan rooms renovated?
Do the Swan rooms have refrigerators, unlike the Dolphin?
How is bus transportation to parks?
As a gold SPG member, any quesses on chances of an ugrade? Are there any terrible room views, if in a standard room?

Any other info, hints, etc. concerning Swan dining, pools, etc. would be appreciated. Thanks

We've stayed at the Swan 4 or 5 times. With our gold SPG membership we have sometimes been given upgrades in view, but only if they have availability. As far as terrible views, I guess the ones we've had overlooking the rooftop aren't too great. But the nice thing is that even though it's sort of ugly below you can usually see nice views in the distance of Mount Everest. So it's not totally awful.

The Swan and Dolphin usually share a bus with YC/BC and/or BWI at times. Unless it's peak season or a holiday they usually don't have their own bus. A few times we did get a bus to just the S/D during EMHs. The Swan is always the first stop, so your chances of getting a seat are good. By the time it gets around to the Boardwalk it's usually standing room only. You'll have boat transportation to Epcot and the Studios.

We like the Swan. DH and I have enjoyed Kimonos in the evening, also they have a nice pool area. And you're close to the Boardwalk for additional dining and entertainment. Enjoy! :)

I read on a post here that the Swan has frig's now. (unlike the Dolphin when we were there last month) but I would call to be certain.
We have stayed at the Swan/Dolphin several times, and "knock on wood" have ALWAYS been offered an upgraded view. (try and get a corner room with views of both Epcot and MGM)
The transportation is Disney, so it is what it is. Most of the time it's very good.
The Swan is the next to the last stop for the bus, so sometimes they are already full when they pick you up, so MK or AK can be a challenge.
Of course the short boat ride or walk to Epcot & MGM, more than make up for that small inconvenience.
If you enjoy fine dining, try the Blue Zoo @ the Dolphin. It's excellent!

Have fun!:cool1:

P.S. Don't forget to take the bottled water in your room. You pay for it with the $10 per day "resort" fee. They will restock you each day!:thumbsup2
