Swan or Dolphin- what's the difference?

Been reading the boards since February in anticipation of our Disney Cruise in July. The information I have received has been invaluable!

I am already thinking about next year's vacation and since I am a teacher, I am very interested in the Swan/Dolphin because of the teacher discount. My question is what is the difference between the two, if any? We are thinking of going during spring break of April 2005 with DH, DD's 9 and 6.

Any information from you resort experts would be most appreciated!

both host conventions but Dolphin is bigger and hosts more of them, Swan is smaller and somewhat more intimate.
Swan offers the Heavenly bed in all rooms not sure if all rooms in Dolphin have them yet.

What are heavenly beds? I will be at Dolphin next week so I would like to know if i should request one

The Swan has 2 Queen beds, the Dophin has 2 double beds.

Will the Swan allow booking 5 people into one room?

Heavenly beds are just that - Once you get in one you will never want to get out. They are to die for!! All the rooms at the Swan have them , and I think that most of the rooms in the Dolphin do to by now. (Dolphin rooms are being renovated one by one)

As to 5 to a room, a roll away is $25 per night, and the 5th person is an extra $25 per night if there are 3 people over 18. We were going to do the Swan last year, but an extra $50 per night was a bit too much. I don't know if there is an extra charge if only 2 are over 18.

With a 6 and a 9, I would recommend the Dolphin - lots of excitement for kids! The Swan is a bit more sedate and restful, but farther away from food, drinks, etc.

Our family will be staying at the Swan in May. Because there will be 8 of us between two rooms, we chose the Swan for the queen size beds, rather than double at the Dolphin. Also, the Swan has an extra sink outside the bathroom. At the Dolphin, both sinks are inside the bathroom.
