I didn't vote for either. My advice would be to stay where you can get the best price AND stay in the same place the entire trip. Your walk to the pool could very easily be closer from the Swan, than from the far end of the Dolphin. Nothing is very far away and all seems much closer than many of the moderates.

The buses pick up the Swan, then the Dolphin, then onto the others. Drop offs are reversed with Swan once again being first! The friendship boats are great for going to MGM and EPCOT. It is a fantastic location with great transportation! The entire boardwalk is right next door, too!

There are many restaurants between both resorts, plus you have the Y/B clubs and the boardwalk restaurants close at hand. You will not go lacking for a place to eat! When we did suddenly get a 2am craving for a burger we'd send our kids together (17 and 10 on that trip) down on a burger run over to the Dolphin. It wasn't far and it did the trick!

Happy Planning! You're going to love the heavenly beds, too!

We had kinda the same problem during our March trip. Due to IBM convention there were no rooms at Dolphin or Swan for part of our stay. We stayed at CBR for four days and then three days at the Dolphin.

I must say that I hated to have to pack everything up during our trip and transfer. It was kinda a pain. The reason why I felt that was, we hated to waste a day in the parks so we go up early and went to check into Dolphin but room was not ready so we left the luggage and then had to continue to call to see if the room was ready. We left the park around 4:00 to go get our new heavenly room all set up and then we only had a little of time left because the parks close early in the first part of March so we went to Downtown Disney.

I guess I just like getting in a room and staying there.

If I had to do it again. I would stay in one place so that I did not have to bother with packing/ unpacking/ packing/unpacking etc.......

We split our stay in March, also because of the IBM convention. First four days at Y&B last three at Swan. On "moving day", we called a bellhop to pick up our luggage when we were ready to leave for the parks. While dh & dd were showering, I walked over to the Swan to register. When we returned mid-afternoon, I picked up our keys and our luggage was already in our room. It couldn't have been easier.

I didn't really need to go register in the a.m., i could have waited until that afternoon. Disney will transfer your bags. In fact when we picked up our keys, they told us to go to luggage services so they would bring up our bags..the luggage staff got all nervous because they couldn't find our bags. So they asked us to go on up to the room while they called Y&B to inquire. They were already in our room!!!

We just returned from the swan today with the 3 ds 12,14 and 16. We also stayed there in aug. after our 7 night ftp at the polynesian. We like the swan because its smaller and also the first bus pickup, you get to sit more than stand on the busses and this time we didnt even have time to go in the grotto pool. We ask for a room close to the elevator. We got the west wing with govt. disc. Its a great resort and you will love it. You do have to walk over to the dolphin for tubbis etc. If you are planning on using the refillable mugs it could be a hike, That is why we just bought some soda at our grocery stop and kept it in the room. You will also have a coffee maker in your room too so that could be a time saver.
